We were there Feb 24-March 4, stayed at POFQ and the WL...had a WONDERFUL time!!
Day1: Arrived at MCO at 11AM, greeted by Tiffany Towncar driver at baggage claim(Sam, what a great beginning). I will definitely use their services again. Arrived at POFQ around 1PM, checked in, and was in our room by 1:15, our bags were brought up almost immediately. What a beautiful resort!! The grounds were pretty, the room very clean, the pool was perfect for my family(ds9 and dd5). I would definitely stay there again. It was such a quiet resort, and we loved the boatride to DTD.
We unpacked and took the boat to DTD. We ate at Earl of Sandwich(which we really like) and of course had a sundae at Ghirradelli's, did a little shopping, then returned to POFQ to swim a little. I took the boat over to POR to pick up the package that I had sent down before our arrival. We had a great relaxing arrival day, early to bed for EE the next AM at MK.
Day 2: EE at MK, arrived at the gate by 7:30. I really can't comment on crowds as I have nothing to compare to as it was our first trip. Everything was even more beautiful than I had imagined, the green wall did not detract at all from the beauty of it all for us. We went in at 8:00, got to wake up Tinkerbelle(thanks for the tip, DIS), got to ride Dumbo(we were one of the first ones), rode PP 2-3 times, rode Pooh, the carrousel, Phillharmagic all before 9AM. We had a PS for CRT at 10:45. Wow!! What a great experience!! The food was great and had a great time with the princesses! It did seem to get crowded, so we left about 2PM and went over to Epcot. Awesome first trip to MK!!!!
Epcot was great too! We saw a few attractions in FW, then headed for Biergarten. The kids loved the entertainment, the food was decent. Ended the night with Illuminations...Wow!! What a great first day!! We were exhausted!
Day 3: We were a little slow getting up this AM, but that was OK. Went over to MGM, it seemed very crowded, but we knew this going in as it was ESPN weekend. We rode a few rides, saw a few shows, then to H&V for F! dinner. H&V was decent, but I think we will try MM next time. Fantasmic...WOW again!! I had no idea!! It was very cool!! We were still so pumped this PM, so we made our way back to MK and caught Spectro and Wishes. We continued to be blown away( you can probably tell by now that we will now join the Disney addicts club, we're hooked!)
Day 4: We had planned on AK today, but AM rain made us change our plans. We had breakfast at Kona, then rode the monorail and visited resorts, went to DTD for a little bit, then went to CG for a 7:10 PS. Another WOW. The food at CG was WONDERFUL!! The atmosphere, great! We finished up just in time to go out on the deck and watch Wishes. Very cool night!!
Day 5: AK day. We got up early(we're early risers, so the early AM thing worked well for us). This was not an EE day, we arrived at the gate around 8:30. We headed straight for Kili Safaris(so glad we did this, because when we finished the ride, the line was VERY long). We rode and saw a few more things, then headed to AK for a 10:45 PS at Boma. This worked out great, and the food was very good. We spent the rest of the day at AK. MUST SEE LION KING! What a surprise! I had heard this was good, but we all were amazed and loved the show!! Do not miss it!! We headed back to POFQ and had dinner in the food court. We really liked POFQ foodcourt(and grew quite attached to the AM bienets...yum).
Day 6: Today, we change resorts, moving to WL. We were a little sad because we really like POFQ. We called bell services, they came right up to take our bags, and transferred them over to WL. We headed to Epcot. We spent the day at Epcot, took the boat over to eat at Beaches and Cream(we loved the atmosphere, the food was decent) We went to B&C around 11:30 and were seated right away. I would go back, the burgers were OK, but the shakes were great. We continued at Epcot until aroung 3:30, then headed to WL. What a beautiful resort!! It took about 30 minutes to check in at WL. We had booked a woods view, had a choice between the 5th floor facing the castle or ground floor with bunk beds. Oh, the sacrifices we parents make...my kids had their hearts set on bunk beds, so ground floor it is(we tried to talk them out of this one, but they were so excited about the bunk beds). Our room turned out to be perfect...so close to Roaring forks, close to laundry room, just down the hall from the door to the pool and boat dock. It was a good decision. We had a PS for WCC, and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was great and the atmosphere was fun. Ketchup requested and received! After dinner, we took the boat over to FW for the campfire and movie, and had a great time. We didn't finish the movie because it really started to get cold. Great day again!!
Day 7: We took the boat over to MK in the AM, ended up having lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern which we really enjoyed. We stayed at MK for the early afternoon, then went back to WL for a break, then back to MK for EMH. We ate at Peco's Bill's which we enjoyed. It seemed crowded to us, we rode a few rides and headed back to WL.
Day 8: We had a 8:05 PS for CP. We found out once we arrived at WDW that my dd5 has a very real fear of the non-face characters, so we ended up avoiding them most of the week with her. My ds9 and I really(mostly me) wanted to go to CP, so he and I went by ourselves and dh stayed with dd in the room(which turned out great because he ended up doing laundry). WOW again!!!! Being in the park that early was soooo cool. And CP was WONERFUL!! My son ended up being the first child into the restaurant, so he got to be Chef of the Day. I almost cried!! He was showered with attention by the characters all by himself, got to decorate a Mickey Mouse pancake, got a chef hat with Chef of the Day on it, and received a certificate. He was beaming!! We will definitely be returning to CP again!! I would have to say this was our all around best meal experience. The food and atmosphere were perfect!! After breakfast, we walked on a few rides before returning to WL to pick up dh and dd. We all returned to MK, then hopped over to MGM. We rode a few rides, saw a few attractions, then planned on seeing F! again, but it was a cold and rainy night, so we had to call it a night(we would have loved to see F! again).
Day 9: Departure day. We made sure our bags were stored for our 4:30 Tiffany pick up. We had a PS for Chef Mickey's for 10:20, and decided to try to get our dd5 to overcome her fear of the characters because it seemed time, and we really didn't want our ds9 to miss out. We had her sit on the inside, and when the characters came over to the table, we told them she just wanted to wave, she didn't want a hug. They obviously have dealt with this, because they were great about it. But then Mickey came to the table. He first waved at her, then blew her a kiss, then reach his hand out to her, then came around the table and slowly shook her hand, then did noseys with her, then she gave him a great big hug!! Again, I could have cried!! From then on, she hugged each character, we even had to go back to some that had already been over to our table. She was so excited about overcoming her fear!!! Unbelievable...and it all started with a Mouse!!!!!!!!!!! What a great way to end our first trip!!!
We then took one last monorail ride(got to ride up front), then hit DTD for a little while, returned to WL, and were picked up by Tiffany.
What a fabulous first trip!!!! We are seriously already planning our next trip.
I absolutely have nothing negative to say about our experience, it was magical!!! Ask away if you have any questions.
