We had such a great time! I can't say enough about how wonderful the Fort was. This trip was coined our "adventure" trip as we were tent camping, driving and our schedule was very unstructured.

I had requested a site in the 1500 loop close to the comfort station. They certainly honored our request-next time I'll ask for something further from the bus stop :).

We LOVED being so close to the pool! Honestly I was surprised how easy the fort was to manuver. We rarely used the internal buses but were certainly glad they were there when we needed them:worship:

The kids enjoyed the Fort just as much as the parks ( well :rolleyes1 um- maybe more) and took advantage of a chance to ride horses/ponies.

The pool and slide were a big hit. Note the "fort by the fort."

The Halloween decorations were a treat in themselves.

This was our best, yet shortest Disney trip yet. We loved Trails End take out-wished we had time for HDDR. Enjoyed the campfire sing-a-long and movie as well as the fireworks and electric light parade on the beach! It won't be our last trip to the Fort!

Glad you guys had a great time! It looks like you are also from "our neck of the woods". I see your son had on a Camp Kanata t-shirt. My daughter used to go there back in her YMCA Indian Princess days....

So what are you waiting for, go ahead and make the reservations for the next trip!

It looks like you had a great first visit to the Fort!

Good job on snagging a site in the 1500 loop!

Your photos are great. I love how your son and daughter actually look like they like to be around each other. I am sure it isn't always like that.

Thanks for posting a report! :thumbsup2

People think I'm crazy but my kids actually enjoyed the fort a little more than the parks to!! Ecspecially my 2 year old, as a matter of fact we didnt use the last day of our tickets so we could have a full day at the fort. Lesson learned for mom for sure. I havent done a TR yet.. but I'm getting there

Yor pix give me a strong desire to get my face painted. Looks too fun. Wonder how my boss would react. :0

Great pcitures..thanks for taking the time to post them. The kids are adorable. :goodvibes

Great pics!:thumbsup2. Isn't it funny how the "adventure" type, unplanned trips usually end up being the most enjoyed. Glad you all had a great time.

Duane- Yep we are your N. Raleigh neighbors. Camp Kanata is a special place for our family :thumbsup2. Never having driven down to FL with my kids I was worried about the drive. We stopped to see my parents in HHI on the way down and drove straight through on the way back. I wasn't too bad...

Tri-circle-D- we call the vacation sibling love "The Magic of Disney" :earsboy: . To say they are not always like that is an understatement as I am sure you know.

MICKEYLOVINMOMOF5- My kids wanted to go to Downtown Disney for lunch and play at the fort on our last day rather than go to a park-worked out great for us! They were just as excited about the refillable drink mugs my DH bought as MNSSHP-I often forget about how the small things seem so big when you are little. I think they used the mugs for every beverage consumed since we got back on Sunday.

We will certainly be back!

We were in 1504 last year. 1501 is RIGHT beside the bus stop. Those busses can be mighty noisy in the morning if you want to sleep in. Glad you had a great time. :cool1:
