DH and I ust returned from our first trip to the AKV and it was fantastic! We did an add-on of points at AKV 2 years ago, but this was the first time we stayed at AKV, and I have to admit I wasn't sure if I was going to love it or not. Our room was in the Zazu section of Kidani. We had a Savannah view studio. It was beautiful! The room was very well designed and laid out. We loved the decor, and of course the view was spectacular. We enjoyed staying on our balcony and having breakfast, and then returning to our room by 3:00-3:30 to see feeding time! The animals were pleantiful during feeding time! It was hard to pull ourselves away from the balcony to get ready for dinner every night! We'd be out there for 2 - 2.5 hours each night! I hated to go inside! It was just a really wonderful experience. The only thing I could say that I wasn't thrilled about was the pool -- it is beautiful, but too small for a resort of that size. We couldn't even find available chairs the first time we went down there, had to leave our stuff on the side close to where the pool dj was set up. It's a beautiful pool area, just wish they made it a bit bigger. I enjoyed Kidani so much that I made a new reservation today for an unexpected August trip for my mom's birthday!

In your opinion:
1. Besides 3 p.m., what time(s) would also be good to view animals at Kidani (ex. feeding times).

2. What time did you go down to the pool to get chairs the first day and there were none available?? What time would you suggest we get to the pool to guarantee we get 4 chairs together (we are travelling to Kidani late this month)?

Any thoughts would be great.

Thank you

Sounds like you really enjoyed AKV--we love our home resort!!!

Have stayed at Jambo twice now and will sample Kidani next March!!

We were there last week, it seems like the animals were always out and about.

We usually hit the pool around 2-3 in the afternoon and never had an issue with getting chairs.

The pool partys they have in the afternoon are fun.

Well, there were always a few animals out, it just seemed that there were lots more out during/right after they were fed. I believe the afternoon feeding time was at 3:15 or so and they pretty much were out and about until 6:00 (at this point we were always getting ready to leave for dinner reservations, so I'm not sure what time they went in, because we didn't get back to the room until after midnight pretty much every night). There were also lots of animals out in the mornings.

The first day (Saturday) when we couldn't get a chair was about 1:45-2:00 in the afternoon & it wasn't only us. There were lots of people looking for chairs.

The pool party was not "our thing" -- didn't expect to have Britney Spears blasting me out at the AKV -- thought it would be quiet and serene like the VWL pool. But from 2:00 - 4:00 (or 4:30? don't remember exact time) is the pool party. We avoided the pool during that time frame the rest of our stay.
