Just Back From Our AKV Concierge Stay!!!

We just got back from our first stay Concierge level.
I have to say we planned a very relaxing trip and was going to just wing it and that's what we did. We were able to get BWV for the first night, Saturday and we checked into AKV at 10:45am on Sunday the 25th and to our surprise the room was ready... we were in 6406 which is a studio, it was a pool view and we enjoyed it.
I will if possible book concierge again if we want a relaxing stay and plan on spending a lot of time at the resort. It was great and we liked being able to go down at anytime and snack, also if you ever wanted a glass of wine or beer and it is not out they will get it for you if you ask. Everyone that we encountered there is great but there was a couple that definitely made us feel special.
The whole week we probably didn't spend more than 8 hours total if that in the parks and the rest of the time we spent it there or exploring the other resorts.

We was able to book the Sunrise Safari Weds night for Thursday morning, if you have never done this before and you are staying club level you have to try it. We were probably on the Safari for nearly 1 1/2 hours and was so much fun and we were able to get lots of photos. The breakfast after was great, everyone working in there yesterday for breakfast was so nice and eager to help with whatever you need.

I already miss it and ready to go back.

It was just DH and myself so we didn't take part in any activities. If I'm not mistaken the night viewing starts at 6pm, but don't hold me to it and I didn't bring the activities sheet back with me.

I'm glad you enjoyed the concierge level at AKV! I also enjoyed the food, snacks, especially the potato chips.

I have been trying to figure out what wines they serve. My parents recently stayed CL at GF and they had a champagne or sparkling wine available, was that available at AKV CL? Since it will be my birthday I will bring a bottle with me if they do not have any.

they have Shiraz, Merlot and Chardonnay for wines and the have beer no champagne or sparkling!! I didn't take any photos of the offerings, sorry!!
The wine they serve is a South African wine, it was good..

Did you experience any problems with noise while in your room at night? We stayed in a studio November 2010 and loved it except for the noise! We heard the TV from the lobby blaring all night long and when we called the front desk to see if it could be turned down, they told us it was controlled from a central location and could not be lowered.

We are staying 2 nights AKL CL in January so happy to hear you had a great time. It will just be myself and DH after 10 nights at POR so we are planning on just hanging out at the resort. Can't wait to try the wines.

You can hear things going on, but it didn't bother us at all. When we were waiting for the Sunrise Safari we were chatting with some other guests and they did say that theyes were bothered by all of the noise. We go to bed late so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. The lady also said that there was a newborn in the room beside of her and she heard every time the baby woke up, now that would have bothered me she said it was every hour and was awful.

Just wanted to add that the wine is very good. I enjoyed the lounge and all the offerings quite a bit!

I hope to stay there again but think I have to book right at eleven months.

I have stayed at AKL 2 times this year and it is my favorite reosrt as well .

We will be at AKL this spring. What Safaris do they offer? Its just DH and me and would be a neat thing to do. We also love this resort.
