We arrived 11-6 and check-out 11-15, in studio 3110.

There was no wait for check-in. We were given our pick from 5 buildings, none of which were ready for occupancy. I told the CM that location didn't really matter to us, as long was we got first or second floor, not 3rd floor. She picked 3110, a first floor unit for us. Probably one of the nicest views for a studio that we've had, as no studio has a fantastic view at OKW.

Our room was ready about 2:30, and it was in good shape and clean, though you could tell some past guests had been less than delicate at some point. The bar sink faucet had a slight "bend" in the crook part, like a youngster had grabbed it to climb into the sink, and the diffuser for the under cabinet light kept falling off.

Everything was in working order, the room had obviously been painted fairly recently, though there were a few normal wear and tear knicks here and there. All in all an excellent location and well maintained unit.

Olivia's food seems to cycle through good and bad periods, like most Disney restaurants. We ate there several times this trip and it was very good, and the service was the usual OKW style, relaxed, friendly and efficient.

I was disappointed in that the counter service at Good's to Go doesn't have more selections, or at least options, like the Ceasar salad can not be ordered without the chicken, as the salads are pre-made. We really like Disney's plain Ceasar salads, so for counter service meals we drove over to POP Century, who has a wonderful selection of items, and the added bonus of accepting the DDE discount :)

We rode the busses to the parks on a few occasions, and found the OKW bus service to be on par with other Disney resorts.

Thanks for the report, Chuck. And I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who's crazy about the caesar salads at WDW. I don't know why, but they're always so good there! I was so disappointed when CRT stopped serving them. Have you ever had the caesar salad at GFC? I love that one.

Thanks for the report Chuck. We were at OKW recently and loved it. And Olivia's was excellent when we were there. Did not go to Good's. Did hit the Suitcase though!

Thanks for the report Chuck. Did you stay in a studio to maximize your points? Is this normal, or do you usually stay in a 1BR. So many members state that after staying in a 1BR, they can't go back to a studio. Just trying to get the opinion of someone whoose been a member for some time. TIA

We don't move on weekends, and like fairly lengthy stays. We usually go to WDW 2x per year and alternate between one bedrooms and studios.

A nice thing about OKW studios is that there are 2 real queen beds, not a bed and sofa sleeper. But the one bedrooms have so much room and the added plus of their own laundry room, but I always feel like I HAVE to cook some meals when we stay in a one bedroom ;) Alternating every other trip one bedroom/studio works well for us.

Have you tried the caesar salad at the Land at Epcot? We had one in August and it was really yummy.

Chuck, sounds like things went well. We really enjoyed Olivia's when we stayed at OKW. I thought Goods to Go had a limited menu, too. But I think the BW is worse. Especially since you can't even get a hotdog at the pool bar anymore. :sad2:

I appreciate the report. We will be arriving at OKW on 11/30 and are staying in a studio for one night and a 1-bedroom for the rest of the week. :cool1:

We too have recently stayed at OKW and had a wonderful time. We were in the South Point road area and had a fantastic view of the river and the boat traffic. We ate breakfast at Olivia's and really enjoyed it. However I do have to agree that Goods To Go does need a few more menu items. Also their hours were not consistant during our stay. One night after returning on the boat from DTD we stopped there at 9:30 and were told they were no longer serving food. It would be nice if they stayed open a little longer. Thanks for your review.

First, Chuck thanks for taking the time to report.

While it's true that the one-bedrooms are spectacular, I also think staying in a studio is pretty terrific too. I've "downgraded" to the studio at Christmastime to stay for close to two weeks and bring along family in their own studio. Especially when you really spending a lot of time at the parks vs. lounging around the resort, the studios are still wonderful.

I agree that the real bed options at OKW are great when you have more than a couple staying.

Thanks for the report Chuck! We will be staying at OKW for the first time this coming February. We are really looking forward to it. We also plan on trying Olivia's - so glad to hear they are on a good cycle (hopefully this lasts into Feb).

We like the laid back style for our resort. After a day in the parks, that seems to be the kind of place we like to come back to.

Thanks for sharing with us Chuck! Glad you enjoyed your trip...
