We just spent three days and three nights at the Nick Hotel and it was an absolute blast! Our daughter LOVED the laser maze, 4D movies, and poolside activities! We were selected for Double Dare Live on our first night there and it was AMAZING! Our team won and my daughter for slimed! I really wish this hotel wasn't transitioning into different theming because we would go back in a heartbeat! We had so much fun and are so glad we got to experience it!!!

That sounds like a blast - we have always talked about staying there. I am not up to speed - what is it transitioning to?

It's turning into a Holiday Inn if I remember correctly. All Nickelodeon theming will be gone mid-April. :( From what I understand, it will be pretty plain.

I'm also sad that they are changing - We were really looking forward to staying there next year.
I am so sorry! :( We had reservations for July and we received the email about the change and immediately cancelled our spring break plans. They flawlessly slid our reservations over to March. So glad we went! I wish it would stay as is.... so fun!

Perhaps your definition of plain differs from mine, but according to the hotel website, many of the unique experiences will remain. They simply will be re-themed to non-Nickelodean stuff. This hotel is definitively not going to be a run-of-the-mill Holiday Inn. From the website:

"The rebranding creates opportunities to bring new features to life, including newly renovated suites, laser maze, 4-D theater lineup and live entertainment in our studio and poolside!"

Glad you had a great time!

We went back in 2011 and, while the kids had a blast, my husband and I were NOT impressed. It was dirty, felt the staff was very pushy towards buying everything (tickets for the movies, etc), lifeguards did not control all the kids (much of this falls on the parents- though they were all being loaded up with drinks at an alarming rate), a/c never worked properly, etc.

In fairness, we spent a weekend here after spending a week at Bay Lake Towers, so it would be hard to live up to that. But we both said "one and done!" Great theming, but old, run down, and lack of customer service.

Interesting it is turning into Holiday Inn...that what it was initially.

Oh my goodness! I can totally see where your complaints come from! It was definitely not up to Disney par. There was a lot of expectations to buy things, but we went in prepared to do the 4D/laser maze package so it didn't matter.
The lifeguards must have really stepped up their game. On our last day I actually witnessed a lifeguard jump in and pull a struggling 2-3 year old out of the pool and then sit with him for 5 minutes until his dad wandered up.:sad2:
I think we came prepared knowing what to expect (and what not to, lol)! So we weren't disappointed. Also, we went to the Swan & Dolphin after the Nick Hotel so then we were in the lap of luxury, lol!!!! :flower1:
