The first thing I'd like to report is, this is the best after hours event we have ever attended. We did MNSSHP a couple of years ago, and while we enjoyed it, I didn't think this was worth the money. We have always like MVMCP much better, but tonight really surprised me. The CMs were wonderful. They went out of their way to be high energy and full of fun, despite some bad weather. The rides were all walk-on all night long. The longest wait time was for Pooh (about 5 minutes) but that was because they were taking pictures with "Mummy Eeyore" and Pooh right by entrance. We watched the Happy HolloWishes Fireworks from main street near the castle forecourt. It was a little too close, but it was still the best fireworks show we have seen here (we have done New Year's, but not 4th of July). I wish you could purchase the music from the fireworks show and parade. We skipped the 8:15 parade and waited for the 10:30 showing instead. That was a good decision. We showed up in the front plaza of Main Street at 10:45 (the parade started in Frontierland) and snagged curbside seats with no problem.
The characters we saw were:
Captain Jack Sparrow, Wendy, Peter Pan, Smee & Captain Hook in Adventureland.
Woody, Jessie, Bullseye, Horace Horsecollar (really), several country bears, Brer Rabbit, Brer Bear, Brer Fox in Forntierland.
Some ghouls and ghosts in Liberty Square.
Chip and Dale, two of the mice from Cinderella, Eeyore, Tigger & Pooh in Fantasyland.
Stitch in Tomorrowland.
There were lots more, and many in "costume," but these were the only characters we visited with our son.
I know there has been a lot of concern about the fact that the park was not emptied of day guests, but we saw literally nobody without an arm band on. The lines for the character meet and greets, rides and candy were short, and they checked you for your armband before letting you go to any of those activities. I suppose some people may have stayed around for the parade and fireworks, and like I said previously, we skipped the early parade, but there were not large crowds for the fireworks, and the 2nd showing of the parade was deserted. I would ay that Disney did an excellent job of crowd control and general execution of this event.

Thank's for the post! I have been waitong all day to hear how it went. So glad you had a good time.

And Horace will be there? That's enough to make me start packing now!
And the OP indicated there were plenty more characters out and about, too! Whoo hoooo!
