I know you all love DCL, so I will keep most coments about that to myself. First of all we had a great time and the weather could not have been nicer, Definately a great time to travel. The Poly is so beautiful, and they treated us really well. we stayed in the Tahiti building and liked how quiet it was. Not too far a walk from things (but I am a new yorker and am used to walking). Would also recommend Tokaleu. Anyway, we were sorry we didi not schedule more time to just relax at the Poly. Went to MK, AK and MGM. and would have liked a day just on the beach!

Be careful if using DCL transfers, we were very happy with them and it is so convenient, but bring a bag with everything you will need for the first day, we did not get our bags for 4 hours, and we would up complaining and getting some comps! We got to the ship by 1:00 and it was plenty of time for spa and palo ressies and for the Oceaneer club. Palo was even empty on the hight we were there.

Do not worry about PS for restaurants and character meals so much.We made PS's for evertything in advance but changed our schedule around so much once there, and we never had a problem getting a new ressie! ALso, many people just go to the restaurant and wait, and some got in before us.

Definately fastpass everything you can!

Now about the cruise...overall we were disappointed, but our DS had a blast. We really felt the movement the 1st night and needed Dramamine, but after that we did not move much, so it was fine. We thought they accommodations were very nice, loved having the Navigator's Verandah! Food was terrible, except for Palo, which we loved, and activities for adults only were seriously lacking. We would definately go back to the POly, but will probably skip the cruise next time.

Don't feel bad about publishing negative things. Most people like to hear both sides of the story! I'd like to hear more about what you didn't enjoy.

Thanks for taking the time to post. Glad you had a great time on the land portion of your vacation. Sorry the cruise portion didn't live up to your expectations. My family has been on the Wonder twice and loved it. Close friends of ours cruised for the first time last year on the Wonder and hated it. Different strokes...

Thanks again!

I am getting a little nervous. It seems like since spring break there have been many unhappy campers.:(

Did you catch the bus from the Poly or from Animal Kingdom? Wife and I are doing pretty the same thing (including the Poly) here in two weeks.

I for one am very happy when people post the positives and the negs, I also loved the post from the person who listed the daily activities from the navagator , after reading what there was to do some the sea days I dont think I would find much to do other then lay around , which is not something I like to do. Thanks to everyone who doesnt put a good spin on everything I love to hear the truth whether it be good or bad.... thanks

like a said before you can't please everyone all of the time. no one is perfect.

Not all activities are for everyone. We LOVE the DCL right now, but have serious concerns about future trips once our twins turn 13 and move to the teen group. I have told DH that I think at that point it will be time to do some other types of trips.

We have 2 more years of cruises before we face this decision, but I am already thinking ahead to alternative vacations.

I am curious to know how well you liked the Navigators Verandah? We are considering this for our cruise next year.

We had a navigator's veranda last cruise toward the back of the ship with the solid metal railing and we really enjoyed it. The only downfall was that you had to stand up to see the ocean but the privacy was great. This year when we sail we have a balcony with the plexiglass railing. I think the kids will enjoy this much more as they will be able to watch the waves. My vote is definetly for a balcony. To us it is worth the extra cost.

We just got back too(7 day land and sea) and had the EXACT same complaints as you. No worries...everyone is entitled to their opinion and we all have different desires. I was disappointed a bit, myself!

I was on the May 6th Wonder and pretty much had the same experience as you. DD loved it, the food was average at best, but the Bahama Mama's were pretty tasty! Castaway Cay was glorious and we loved our verandah. I'm not sure what I was expecting from the cruise, but I did walk away from it a bit disappointed. I just wasn't getting that warm fuzzy that I got while staying at the Beach Club. I did not like the almost constant suggestive selling whether it was for spa products or being hustled by the head server for a tip that he did not earn.

We did the Land/Sea so our stay was at the Beach Club prior to the cruise. The Beach Club is amazing. The rooms were huge the balconies are wonderful and the pool was fabulous. The service was incredible. Every employee there made us feel as if we were the only people staying in the place. It was incredible.

With that being said, overall we had an enjoyable vacation and made some wonderful memories with my family(my 78 yr. old grandma parasailed at Castaway Cay! can you believe it?!?)

For those of you heading out on your first cruise...Do your research, but don't overdo your research...sometimes not knowing what to expect and allowing yourself to be spontaneous is what truly makes your vacation special.
