Adventurer's cast recap....

Me(32) dis-aholic and planner extrodinaire!!
fiance(39) first trip since age 10 and god sport for all my planning
DD(7) the infamous Smiley Ryleigh... her birthday trip!

Nov.10,2003
Woke up raring to go... had a quick jacuzzi with Ryleigh before leaving Hotel Royal Plaza for the much talked about AKL. Of course it was still raning so that drive up to the lodge wasn't as astounding to us as it could have been. However we were happily surprised at interior. Our room though seemed smaller than the POLY's rooms and they weren't the suites we'd had the previous two nights before we arrived either... but the decor was lovely and the matteresses were good! We had a savannah view but since it was raining... only a long horned thing was about! Some brown cown thing.... didn't know it's name!
Breakfast at Boma's was good however our server "Nancy" didn't smile much but the food was good!
Hummed and hawwed over where to go... You see I had an entire itenary planned before arrival but it was raining!!!! the first park was AK but did we want to chance the rain. When we got out to the parking lot, it had stopped so off we went to AK.
It rained on and off throughout the day and we ended up missing Mickey's Jammin Jungle parade but we'll put it on the list for next October!
Did Kilimanjaro Safaris first but it was raining again so we didn't see too much. Decided to do AK on early entry day and get on the safari again during the week!:hyper: Went through the pagani trails though and saw all the gorillas out... they'd been hiding all morning and were just beginning to come out for the spectators.
Then off to Rafiki's Planet watch which didn't last long as it started to rain AGAIN! touch a goat and ran for cover! Train ride was fun for RY. We hadn't done that before and she enjoyed it!
Festival of the Lion King was next! Showed up 15 minutes before had and again... it started to rain! This is usually our favourite part but Timon decided to run over and give Ry a huge hug in her wheelchair... needless she was terrified and was freaking out most of the show. She watched Timon like a hawk for the rest of the performance!
Tough to be a bug didn't go over well either! We decided to let her try it this year with the 3D glasses on!! She lasted a whole 30 seconds and out we flew... along with another family... into... you guessed it... More rain!
Grabbed a quick nibble of ice cream and decided to wait for the parade....... DF and DD waited in a nice spot for exiting park while I went SHOPPING!!!! Of course, I'm gone inside for 10 minutes and out I come with the heavens opening up for a giant downpour. OK... no parade for us!!! We run through the waterfall of water to the car, get kid and equipment loaded and again... it stops. AAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!
Back to AKL to dry off an catch a nap before dinner at Boma's. It was great! Lots of variety and great tastes to choose from!
DD went to Simba's Cubhouse for the evening. They were great with her. She had a lovely time and most of the kids were trying to make her laugh. Gloria and Grace were a big help and looked forward to having her again.
While Ryleigh(dd) was in the good hands of the cubhouse staff, we went to the Adventurer's club for a couple of hours of good clean? interative fun! this is my favourite place to be and to all our fellow Adventurer's Kungaloosh!

Part 3 - MGM studios and 50's Prime Time Cafe

Too bad Ryleigh was disturbed by Timon and ITTBAB. Maybe next trip she will enjoy ITTAB more.

Sorry there was so much rain. I sure hope the sun comes out soon.

My DD takes a long time to warm up to the characters. i don't know how she spots them, but she can tell we are getting near some from a long ways off ---and, it's off in the other direction for her as fst as her wheelchair can go.

I was in Animal Kingdom that day, too! Only it was at the end of our trip. We only stayed for the morning because there is no place to go with toddlers in the rain. Even the playground was basically closed. Would it kill Disney to put a cover over the MGM and Animal Kingdom playgrounds? Sorry, just a rant... Diansaur was broken and we ditched the whole Dinoland after a reduced Tarzan. I guess wet floors aren't conducive to the skating portion of the show. What saved the day was the Kali River Rapids, which surprise surprsise, my 3yr old daughter could ride! We did this back to back with virtually no line. Afterall, there was no prayer of drying off that day, so not many wanted to ride this attraction. But we were already wet, so why not? My kids ADORED it and we had a blast. Then we headed back to our hotel.
