Just back from CBR

We just got back yesterday form CBR... We got there on Sunday the 8th and left early the 12th instead of the 14th as planned.
We did not like this resort at all.
The grounds are nice but the room was horrible. We could hear the man in the room next door snoring loudly everynight.
Also, there was lound running upstairs everynight until 1am. I called the front desk but they said there wasn't anything they could do about it. When we got to our room there weren't any towels, toiletries or extra toilet paper and the bathroom floor was dirty. I called for them to clean and give us supplies it while we are gone and they never came. I had to call back 2 more times. We were in Jamaica 4526.
We are used to staying in Deluxe and I guess in Disney you get what you pay for. The food was horrid at shutters, the food court was the same food as the parks and we were sick of it. I would rather stay offsite than have to stay here again. We had called Monday morning to see about switching resorts and everything in all of Disney was booked! Some recession we are in. So on Thursday we decided since we did all the parks and rode everything twice we would leave. We ended up going to Ft. Myers beach and wish we would have done that the whole time. This was our 4th trip to disney as a famliy. My son is 7. He loved being in disney and we had fun at the parks but I don't think I would be so eager to go back anytime soon.

I am still waiting to find out if CBR is going to refund my remaining balance. They rented the room out as soon as we left (I know because I forgot something and had to go back) so they better.
I think if we ever go back to orlando we would stay offiste at one of the vacation homes and eat at off site restaurants for dinner. The food in disney was awful.

Awww, I'm so sorry you had a less than stellar vacation- that stinks!

It sounds like you might be a bit tired of the whole disney experience, maybe?

We stayed at CBR for the first time in October and while we liked it well enough, we didn't have any of the problems you encountered. We were also in Jamaica, with two connecting rooms.

The one bad thing we did have was that in our second room- the hot water stopped working with two days left on our trip. But it was okay- b/c we still had one shower working.

We thought the resort grounds were beautiful, and the rooms-- they were like any other mod resort I guess.
Our fave continues to be POFQ-

Sorry to hear your stay at CBR was troubled. Thanks for posting. I hope the time you spent with your family at the parks was fun. At least you will have a conversation piece for the years to come. Some of the best memories as a kid were those of misfortune that we could look back on and have a good laugh.

I can also say that our stay at CBR wasn't to great either. Along with the dead dried up frog on our bathroom floor, the floor itself was dirty, you couldn't even walk on it without your socks on, and then your socks were dirty as heck. I wasn't impressed either. Next time we will know I guess.

I am sorry that your stay at the CBR was less than pleasant. Unfortunately, you hear horror stories about ALL of the Disney resorts. We've stayed at the CBR three times and had absolutely no problems at all. It is my understanding that the Jamaica buildings are the last on the list to be refurbed so maybe that's why it wasn't so great. Still, mousekeeping should have come when you called the first time.

I had a similar experience there in January. It was horrible. I hope you get your refund!! I know its not a deluxe but I have stayed at value that were by far better.

--The lack of towels, etc. and dirty floor is not acceptable.

--Outside noise happens in all Disney resorts. (But yes, it is annoying.)

--In some ways you do get what you pay for, but I read of horror stories at deluxe resorts as well.

--You will get a refund.

Sounds like you may need to take a break from Disney, but I do respect your opinion and thank you for your review. I'll be staying at CBR soon.

Yikes!! I'm getting nervous about our trip in May. I need to read some more positive things about the CBR. Given that this is our first trip- our expectations may not be to high. I'm going to be happy just to be there!

Just remember that you can have bad mousekeeping at ANY resort--be it value, moderate, deluxe, off-site, etc. We've had great service at our resort of choice, and we had bad service at one of the deluxes we stayed at. Like you said, you are going to be at Disney and you'll just be happy to be there! Have a great first trip.

Question - has the Jamaica building been refurbished yet? I assumed it would be done by the time I get to CBR (March 3rd - 10th), but if it's not done yet then I'm not going to request that building as I'd rather walk farther but have a new (and better chance of clean) carpet.

Sorry you didn't enjoy your stay. It does sound like maybe you need a break from Disney altogether.

As others have said, these things can happen anywhere. But I understand that it can really ruin a resort for you.

We were just at CBR a few weeks ago and things really couldn't have gone any better. I wish things would have been the same for you!

I hope you and your son were able to enjoy the new pools. My kids really loved them!

I am sorry that you had a bad room. Unfortunately, it happens at all the hotels. I'm sure you will get your refund but if you don't-complain again, I'm sure they will make things right.

Sometimes a resort is just not a good fit. We checked out of ASSports because I could not stand it - and went to CBR. We love CBR and have stayed there more times than any other WDW resort.

I have stayed at a few of the deluxe resorts but we mostly stay in moderates. I just cannot justify the price difference for what you get. Those deluxe extras just are not worth it for us but I understand for others they may be worth the extra money.

For those of you that have never stayed at CBR-try it. We love the resort and never have a problem going back.

I do hope other people have better experiences there than we did. The room we had in Jamaica was refurbished to the Nemo theme. The bed spread had blood on it already! Yikes! I really do think we are just needing a disney break. We did have a lot of fun in the parks though and that's what it's all about. The pool there was nice but it just wasn't comfortable. The big concrete structures were always in the way and I couldn't sit in a chair and watch my son swim. Also, there were a bunch of screaming cheerleaders there the first 2 days. I think I would much rather do a deluxe next time or off site.
