We (myself, DH and DS 3 1/2) just got back from our first trip as a family. We stayed in a one bedroom standard view at BWV. It was the first time DH joined us since we've owned DVC.

Had a wonderful time. We were in room 3119, which was not renovated yet. It wasn't too worn, mostly the throw pillows and some scuffs on the baseboards. Oh and the stove. 2 burners were crooked and didn't work. Makes me wonder what people do to them. Otherwise the room was great.

Crowds were low but higher than I had thought they would be. Mostly in the restaurants though. Rides mostly only had lines of 5 to 10 minutes. Even Toy Story was at most 30 minutes. Didn't do any of the big thrill rides since DS is too little so not sure about those lines.

Had a view of the driveway and entrance to Boardwalk, but could also see the Eiffel Tower and the higher fireworks of Illuminations.

Any questions, please ask :)

Glad you had a wonderful time and DH went too!!:)
We will be there in two weeks!! :cool1: How was the weather? Are the lovebugs out yet?

I am staying there for the first time in May 2010. I have lots of questions. Did you eat most meals in your room? If not, where did you end up eating there? We will be on the QSDP and my DS2 will not have credits so I need to find a way to maximize so I can share with him too. Do you know what is on the menu at the Belle Vue room? I can't seem to find a menu anywhere. Sorry for the questions but...you asked :rotfl2:

We are staying there for the first time in February and I can't wait! Any reports, tips, etc. would be greatly appreciated:thumbsup2 Glad you enjoyed your trip:goodvibes

mvc1997 - It was hot and humid. About 90 every day and a storm in the afternoon. We did get almost all day rain on Saturday. No love bugs yet. In fact this is my second time in September and I've never seen any.

cgirl - We only ate breakfast in our room and some snacks when DS was napping. We mostly ate at table service restaurants in Epcot. I don't like to cook on vacation. We always ordered DS (3 1/2) his own meal at table and counter service. He likes to have his own. But if you want to share there is always plenty of food even at quick service. Sorry, didn't even go to the Belle Vue room so can't help you out there.

MissyDVC - we loved our location, it was far from the elevators, but right next to the stairs down to the quiet pool and to the bus stop and walkway to the Studios. And yes, the hallways are long, but I thought it would have been worse the way people complain about them. We really enjoyed the boardwalk atmosphere.

We were right down from you in 3113 in May and loved that location. We loved everything about BW.
Glad you enjoyed your trip!

ccgirl, DW and I went to Belle Vue in May. It was for breakfast, mainly pastries, breakfast cereal, oatmeal, and fruit. Coffee, tea, milk were served. Did not see any breakfast sandwiches. It was very nice to sit on the veranda and having a very quiet breakfast while watching the boardwalk come to life. It's also very nice for a drink in the evening after the parks.

I think we had that room last year. Did you find my missing sock?

We were also down the hall from you in 3129. Very close to the quiet pool, but definitely a hike from the elevators. Were there from 9/12-9/16.

I'm glad you enjoyed your sv BW villa! We've had units down the end of the hall like that, and for us, the view makes up for the long walk. We've also had units close to the elevators, and we like them too, for the convenience. Well, I suppose we like lots of things about BWV!

That's our favorite location at BWV. We seldom travel with others who need to use the elevators and the stairwells are so convenient. If you can use the stairs, you have quick and easy access to the bus stop, the parking lot, the pools and the walkway to DHS. Fireworks from your balcony is a perk (some of the rooms have a tree blocking the view).

IMO, the walk to the rooms is overrated. We've stayed in many hotels that have equally long or even greater walks to the elevators. If it's hot, I'd much rather walk in air conditioned hallway than outside. What's a few extra steps when you walk all day anyway?

LOL, no I did not. We also lost one of my son's socks.

We really enjoyed it and will stay there again.

I agree, much rather walk indoors in the a/c than outside. Especially in September. The walk wasn't that bad at all. I've had worse in Vegas.

I am very glad to hear you had a nice stay there. We are scheduled to stay there in February for the first time. We have of course heard all the bad but we have heard that about every resort and yet we manage just fine. I guess we see the glass 1/2 full.

I will watch my socks though.... :laundy:

We're the same way. We see the glass as half full. After all, we're at Disney!!

But BWV was perfect. We had a fantastic time. Enjoy your trip! I'm trying out BLT with some friends in February. A studio, so it may be a tight squeeze, but we're used to it. We stayed at CBR before I owned DVC so it shouldn't be a problem.

We LOVE the Boardwalk hallways and all! We stay there the week of July 4th every year and it just seems to get better! This year we stayed on 3rd floor with "Villiage Green" view and it was stupendious:cloud9:! We own at SSR but have just fallen in love with BWV and I so look forward to adding on there, hoped to next year, but NO pay raise's for County employee's this coming year so no new points sigh....
Was so nice to watch Illuminations fireworks(the higher 1's) then the extra 4th of July show from our lanai while drinking a very refreshing Screwdriver goodness was just a perfect way to end our perfect 8 days in the World....
So glad you had a Magical trip and thanks for sharing....Shawnpirate:
