Got back yesterday to snow - yuck!

Here are a few random thoughts:

1) Stayed in a 2BR and Studio overlooking the pool on the 2nd floor. The location was good - easy walk to BW

2) Crowds - More people then we expected. We manged to do a lot but I thought it would be less crowded. I've decided that there really isn't a dead time any longer.

3) Busses - I won't get into this because I think it has been covered before, but I have to agree that they need to change this! It is crazy that all the Epcot resorts need to share busses and are required to make 5 stops to get to/from DD, AK, and MK. We took the bus from AK to the Cont. in order to get to the MK and it only shares a bus with one other resort the Poly. Why don't all the MK resorts have to share? If the BW and the YC/BC are deluxe, then they should have better bus service like the other "deluxe" resorts. Alright enough of that!

4) Weather - cold for swimming but great for the parks.

5) Rides - We did pretty much everything. I must say that the COP is looking really tired. They should either fix-up the theater or close it. The seats are broken and falling apart. We enjoyed the new Philamagic. My DD liked Space.

5) Food - We did 3 character meals - Chef Mickeys, Crystal Palace, and Cape May. Also did the castle at lunch, Sci-fi, Spoodles. We bought the kids the special drink at Sci-Fi with the light-up ice cubes. This worked great because the ice cubes can be turned on and off. Whenever we went to a night event, we brought the ice cubes and our kids were happy! We walked home after Fantasmic and the kids enjoyed lighting our way.

6) Epcot Mask - We completed the kid's mask this trip. We did half one night and the rest a 2nd day. Good for the kids.

7) Member Pins- They have a new Tinkerbelle Pin that says "Member are Magical" on it. These went really fast! I think they were only letting people buy 1. They are planning one for each park.

Happy to answer any questions.

Sounds like you had a good trip! And since there were no comments about room cleanliness or check-in hiccups, we can assume that both were fine??

And I'm glad to see that crowds continue to be at WDW. The worst thing that could happen to all of us as DVC owners would be a deterioration of the parks, or the unwillingness of Disney to invest in them if they thought the crowds were going to continue to dwindle.

Thanks for taking the time to report. :)

Granny,

Our check-in was fine. Our room was not ready until 4:00. The table in the 2BR didn't look like it had been cleaned but everything else was fine.

We stayed one night at the CB to save points - arrived late on Sat. Last year we did the same but stayed at PO. We have noticed that the staff at the moderates are much more friendly then at BCV & BWV. Maybe we have just had bad luck. Both times at the moderate, the staff have given our kids coloring books, stickers, and/or straws. This trip the CM barely spoke english. During our stay we asked a few questions at the front desk and they often didn't know the answer.

Hi,

Thanks for sharing!!!

Glad you had a good time! How was your view of the pool from the second floor? Was it blocked by any trees?

Did you enjoy CB for the one night? We have had both pleasant and very unpleasant CM's checking us in at both BWV and BCV.

Where can the Member pins be purchased?

Thanks!

Lexxiefern,
The trees blocked our view of the pool. My parents had a studio that was closer to the lobby and they had a great view. We enjoyed CB. It is hard to use a regular hotel room when you are use to the space in a 2BR.

poohj80,
The info on the pins was in the "Perk Pages" that we got when we checked in. It is a limited edition pin series that spotlights all four parks. Each will say "Members are Magical" One new pin will be released quartlerly though 2004 while supplies last. The first pin is for AK and will be available 2/6/04. There is also an open-edition pin that features Tinkerbell. This is the one that I got. It was set for release on 1/18 but it did not arrive at the BW until the 19th or 20th and when it did they only received 12.

Thanks for the info. We'll be there next week but only for a day and not staying so we wouldn't receive these "Perk Pages". I assume all DVC members are eligible to purchase? If so, might you share the info on where to purchase the pins?

Thanks so much!

Hi from right down the road in Maryland!

Thanks for the report. Sounds like a great time. I'm thinking of spending the same week at BWV next year.

I thought Doc posted that they were splitting up the bus routes on Jan 18th so BW and Swan & Dolphin would have their own bus. Would you say this didn't happen?

All pins will be released at the following merchandise locations:

Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park - Island Mercantile
Magic Kingdom - Exposition Hall
Disney-MGM Studios - Sorcerer's Hat
Epcot - Pin Central
Downtown Disney Marketplace - Disney's Pin Traders
Disney's BoardWalk Villas
Disney's Beach Club Villas
The Villas at Disney's Wilderness Lodge
Disney's Old Key West Resort
Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa (after opening)
Disney's Vero Beach Resort
Disney's Hilton Head Resort

Hope this helps!

poohstx,

None of the busses we took had changed. The stops at the MK, AK, & DTD still list all the hotels together. I wish they had started this!
