We just returnmed home form our BWV and AKL trip. Overall we had a great time with some minor and Major snafus. Some Disney related and of course because it was me and a trip is never complete without a family crisis, we had one of those as well. :earseek:

We had an uneventful ride out of Providence Via Southwest air. except of course for teh child who 5 minutes after I reached the gate, Started vomiting all over the place about 3 feet from my carriage. To wit I almost died and quite honestly, I am shocked people would put an obviously ill child on an airplane of recirculated air with approx.... 100 other people. I myself would NEVER do such a thing. According to Southwest agents you can not be stopped from doing this.

Anyway we stopped at Winn Dixie upon arrival and I stocked up on all the kids fave foods so I could at least be sure they ate SOMTHING that wasn't fried. Of course as I go to check in the Vomiting family is right behind me in line at The Boardwalk. Now I ask you what are the odds of that? :earboy2:

Anyway heres where it gets weird ( Disney weird not family weird) I go to check in and I see my SIL who does not look happy. ( I had rented her her points. I had 3 rooms booked. all on my points.. 2 standard studios for my mom and SIL. And a 1 bedroom standard view for the boys and myself. When she checked in they told her she only had 3 nights booked not the 5 that I had booked her.
I went to Camille who was a great CM. SOMEHOW.... her studio was changed to a preferred view 1 bedroom. since there was not enough points for 5 nights she only got 3 . I have no idea how who what changed that reservation. Camille did fix it and I unded up getting one of the studios upgraded for the 5 nights to a 1 bedroom prefered view. My mom in my 1 bedroom, sil in the remaining studio. I found it curious a 1 bedroom was available. I would find out later why.......

I was in 3093 great tower of terror and fireworks view. It was immaculate, the cleanest unit I have ever been in. In good repair except for a burnt out bulb over the kitchen table. I set up the Christmas tree from the pass and decorated the balcony with the lights. Thank you so much to The Cox and Staugitis familys for the little gifts they put in the tree box for me. The kids loved them!
We had a great day at MGM the first day almost no waits. A great lunch at Sci Fi, and returned to The Boardwalk.
DISCLAIMER....... This is where it gets ugly......My Aunt was coming and checking into a 1 bedroom so we were on the lookout for her... never saw her? When we got our cell phones etc,,, there were several messages from all branches of the family. Aunt number 3.. who I have posted about before battling cancer. Had a heart attack. We were told she was in congestive heart failure, kidney failure and was not expected to make it. Aunt number 2. Had canceled her 1 bedroom and was home. ( SO probably the 1... I got last minute) My Mom had to fly right home. ANd she did this required canceling weekend portions of her trip VIA CRO, securing transportation back to teh airport for me and the boys on Sunday.. Talking to member services, regarding her points. It was a long morning for me....

I'm so sorry to hear of the problems in the family that you had. We had that happen once to us, and it really isn't a very good situation to be in.

One question about your X-mas balcony lights, though. How did you attach them, and how did you plug them in? We're thinking about putting some up on our balcony when we go down. Thanks.

I wound the lights around the top rails. I had an eight foot extension cord that I snaked through the bedroom door. I was still able to close and lock the door with the lights there. :wizard:

SO very sorry about your aunt!!!!

I haven't read your second post yet, but wanted to respond to the question on the balcony lights. We had little square holes in each stake in the railing. I had brought long (from my gardening box) twist ties and tied each end. Then I strung 3 twist ties together and strung it around the rail in the middle to cinch up the middle of the garland. So it was a swag with two drops, rather than a twist around the top rail. I had tried the twist, but the swag worked better.

There was a plug inside the bedroom.

Thanks for the quick response! ;)

So sorry all this happened to you! I hope the rest of your trip was uneventful!
Bad things are not supposed to happen to the DIS tree donators! We could tell you and the boys went to alot of trouble to get that tree ready for it's trip to the Boardwalk. I would never have thought to even include an extension cord. When we got home we had to go out and shop for a similar one for DD's room since yours was so cute.

We noticed the lights on the standard view side, it was very pretty!

Sorry to hear about your aunt's illness. My mom's sister has terminal emphysema and I held my breath every time we came back to the room that the red light was not flashing on the phone. It seems like everytime we go away, she ends up in the hospital. Turns out she was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday morning but was OK, came home Friday.
