First, has anyone else noticed that wonderful smell when the doors slide open to BCV? I don't know if it's fresh paint or floor wax or what, but I noticed it and every time I walked thru those doors all week, I stopped, took a deep breath and smiled.
My room was #422, a lock-off, non-smoking studio, with a beautiful view-

Of course, when we had a storm coming in (only one day), things looked a little different

The room had a beautiful view of Illuminations, although the porch was very small-great for a solo, but a family of 3 or 4 would really be crowded watching Illuminations, which was straight ahead.

Although the room was in a perfect location-great view of Illuminations;I loved seeing the Eifel Tower; it was very convenient to the laundry room (just a few steps away), unfortunately, the room looked pretty "worn". The door below the sink didn't close fully, the rug was stained in spots, the coffee table was badly knicked and scratched, the dust ruffle was very grimy, the couch had stains and ground in dirt.

When I talked to the head of maintenance, he wrote all these things down and I told him that what really bothered me was the fact that WL recently refurbished their rooms and we bought an armoire. Our armoire, which had been changed out of WL, was in much better condition than anything in the room at BCV. I later noticed that the couches in the BC lobby look pretty grimy with ground in dirt already, too. It's kind of sad, really. However, is BCV still my favorite resort? Definitely! Would I want room #422 again? I thought it had the best view I've had, I loved it!
Oh, and gelato IS a snack credit!
Hope you don't mind all these photos-I recently learned how to do the photobucket thing, and I'm like a kid with a new toy. I'll be happy to answer any questions.

Thanks for posting pics!

I will be in less than a month's time and can hardly wait!

Thanks for reporting back with pics! Can't wait to go next month even with the spots on the furniture and carpet. I've got a few spots on my carpet at home, too--remembrances of our wonderful dog, Bronco, who we had to put to sleep last month after having him as part of our family for 14 years.

We love gelato from the Marketplace too! I like chocolate and DH likes vanilla!!!!

I was in #427 this summer. I felt like I hit the "BCV Room Lottery!' Similar opinions to yours... Great view, great lacation, room clean but looking a little threadbare (and the bedding SUCKED). Let's hope lots of new stuff is coming soon to BCV!

There was a bush or some kind of plant just outside those sliding doors to the BCV that put out a scent that captured my senses every time we walked past. Has anyone else noticed this smell and do you know the name of the bush or plant?

I absolutely love the smell of BCV. I don't know what it is either but I just love it!!!

 Simba's Mom! Nice report and great pics! :thumbsup2 Super view! :)

Great report, BCV's is my "home" resort and we love it. Can't wait to get back

note to self: call MS Monday have upcoming res. noted requesting room #422 or 427 (have never asked for specific room - never hurts to dream).

thanks for posting:thumbsup2

Thank you so much for the pictures. We are going in January. This will be our first time staying at BCV. We are staying at VWL next month, and I already can't wait to be at BCV.

Thanks for the report, and the pics.

But the biggest thanks is for contacting someone while you were there and bringing it to their attention. We don't plan on staying at BCV in the foreseeable future, but if all DVC members would do what you did, general upkeep would be easier and better. Thanks for taking the time to report the situation while still at WDW! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the report. Our first BCV trip is next week.

The new sofa's in the Beach Club's lobby are very nice but the fabric selected was a HUGE mistake....I know the new stuff has not been in there longer than 6 months or so and already it's filthy ....The fabric is a very light yellow and the ottomans are also.....Who puts yellow on an ottoman?

Who every picked out the fabric should be fired, it was a complete waste of money.

I agree, it is sad.

Thanks for the report and the pictures-they were wonderful! Also, thanks for taking the the time to speak with someone about maintenance issues-and here's hoping your concerns were passed along.
