Just back from AS Music

I have lots of questions :goodvibes . How were the buses, new rooms, foodcourt, crowds and noise in the rooms? Did you have good housekeeping? Would you stay there again. Thanks in advance.

Did you have a preferred room? Where was your room located? Was there a long line at check in? What time did you check in? (I'll be in such a hurry to get going!!!)

OK, replying to all, do let me know if I leave anything out. We were there 12/12-12/16.
Check in was 12/12, about 2 p.m. and was super fast. Only one person in line in front of me. the general manager was circulating in the lobby and introduced himself. My girlfriend and I were in Building 6, Country Fair Room 6524. It was SUPER clean and we had the BEST Mousekeeper I've had in 20+ stays at WDW! We always had a sparkling clean room with extra towels, extra soaps and new shampoo. We got new towel animals each day, and she left a very sweet note for us the night before we checked out. I was sure to tip each day.
_I_ did not eat in the food court, but Jeanette had breakfast there each morning about 7:00 a.m. She had the plates and said they were quite good. We did use refillable mugs. I'm sorry I don't have more info on the food court.
The bus service was very good. We used only WDW transportation. Service FROM the parks was fastest--I don't think we ever waited 10 minutes; most waits were under 5. Twice we waited 20 minutes or more for a bus back. Once was from DTD 12/15 about 11:30 a.m. (but it was NOT an AS Music bus), the other was from MGM about 8:00 p.m.. Note: we did not leave any of the parks right at closing time, but we were at parks for opening.
Jeanette and I are both childless by choice, and some noises bother us a great deal. We had no noise in our room at all. In case you didn't pick up on our location before, it was not a preferred room. _I_ don't want a preferred room at a value as I don't care to be near the hubs of activity and noise. Our view was lovely of the woods.
Crowds were very interesting. In the streets of the parks, you would see a good number of people and think, "Ugh," yet when you went to the attractions, waits were 10 minutes or less. Many were walk ons. Many of the FP rides didn't even have the machines uncovered. We used FP for Soarin' and that was it.
We used ME to the airport (we drove down) and had an uneventful trip.
What else can I answer? Oh yes, I would happily stay there again (and I think I would make a room request by Mousekeeper--rather than location!)

we were at the AS music in november - in the jazz building.

we also had a great mousekeeper (towel animals every day etc).

The general manager of the resort was also running the line when we checked in.

He made sure no one waited for even a moment.

I also never had to wait in the concierge line, there were always about 5 CMs working. (where you buy special tickets etc)

we had the same experience regarding big crowds in the parks, but rides being mostly walk on. I had a hard time figuring that out.

but getting back to the ASMu, i would definitely stay there again.
Rooms were nicely refurbished, the bed is VERY comfortable, mousekeeping was great. And we also had no noise in our room at all.
All in all, a very nice stay.

We returned from All Star Music on Saturday so I'll add my input. We checked in during the early evening and waited about 15 minutes in line. Not bad.

Housekeeping was up and down for us. The first two days, it was excellent with plenty of clean towels, a towel animal, and they even arranged my DD's teddy bear in cute poses (once, they put her swimming goggles on her bear, so cute!). The next day, they left a pile of dirty/wet towels on the floor in front of the sink. This is NOT where we left them as we always hang them back up. We figured that they piled them up and then forgot to take them out. The remaining days were fine with a clean room but no more towel animals or extra touches.

The refurbished room was very nice but you should know that not all rooms have the privacy curtain at the sink. Ours did not. We didn't care.

We were in Building 8, on the back side, almost as far from the main building as possible. So, it was very quiet with the exception of hearing toilets flushing at all hours. The only time it seemed like a long walk was when we were already at the main building and needed to walk to our room to retrieve our refillable mugs. Otherwise, it wasn't a big deal at all. We are all healthy with no mobility issues.

Food court was decent food if you avoid the pizza and burgers. We especially enjoyed the chicken quesidillas and the chicken with pasta alfredo. They also have healthy choices for the kid meal sides (carrots, unsweetened apple sauce, grapes) and allowed milk as the kid meal drink. The wait for the food sometimes seemed needlessly long but the lines were almost non-existent for us (usually just one or two people in front of us). The cashiers were not very consistent as I paid different prices for the same meal a couple of times. I think it depends if they ring up your food individually or as a "dinner" that includes a side.

Peg, did you have the curved curtain rod in your bathtub?
i thought that was terribly clever.....it keeps the curtain from banging up against you when you're showering...

as for the privacy curtain between the sink and room, we had one and it was very useful if one of us was sleeping while the other was getting ready for bed....

did you call housekeeping about the pile of towels? did they apologize?

Yes, we had the curved shower curtain rod. I liked it so much I am going to try to get one for home. It was amazing how much more room it seemed to you while showering.

We didn't bother calling housekeeping about the pile of towels. We just kicked it aside and they took it away the next day. :santa:
