Just got back from a week at WDW. Had a ball. The hotel was great. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable. The place is showing some wear but is not bad at all. The pool being closed was annoying but not vacation ruining. They do have another pool that is not far at all to walk.

I want to thank all of you. I have been lurking here for a few months picking up tips and wanted to give back. Any Questions?

We were in Building 1. Surfs up. Not refurbished yet.

Glad you liked it. I will be staying there for the first time in December. How was the food court and bus service?Would love to hear all about your stay there? Have any pics?

Pics are not done yet. The food court was busy busy busy, but the food was good, decent choices.

The buses were for the most part great. Only issue we had was coming home from Epcot after Illuminations. It was CROWDED!!! We ended up on the 8th bus It was not bad though. It only took 35 minutes.

Other than that, we did not wait more than 15 minutes for a bus

is it true that they closed a section of the resort for the room refurb ??
We requested a standard room because of the pool closure and because it's closer to walk over the the other all starts to swim....

I did not see any sections closed at all. You do not have to walk to the other resorts, there is another pool by the baseball section.

We honestly only went 2x's but it seemed fine to me. Your mileage may vary.

I would suggest you request Home Run Hotel.I stayed there August 11-18 and all the rooms there have been refurbished.Also,it is just a short walk from Home Run Hotel to All-Star Music's Calypso{Guitar} Pool where they are having the activities for children during the day and the poolside movies at night.

at the drink station for refills, Is there icees or hot cocoa? this seems to be something that people cant agree on. Is it very far to the home run building from the food court. I cant decide what building to stay in. We paid for perferred but I think I would like the baseball building for the pool, and less money. We would get back like $160 bucks. Thanks

yes,that is my question. how far is home run to food court. and how far is surfs up to food court?

Does anyone know when the pool will be reopened? I paid for a preferred room to be near the surfs up pool unaware it was closed. I will have to call and get this switched if it will not be opened for christmas.

There were no Icee's at the food court. I did not notice Hot Choc, but was not looking honestly.

Surfs up is right next to the food court. HR is much further. I don't remember how long the pool is going to take, not sure I ever knew.

2 weeks from this very minute we will be at Epcot dining with the Princesses in Norway !!!!!

i paid for the preferred room too. I didn't know the pool was closed unil just recently.
