Just back from AKV-Kidani

We just returned from a 2br lock off at Kidani Village and it was an incredible week! The unit was very clean and in perfect order, no issues at all. We were savanah view and got rooms on the third floor in the first set of rooms, very convenient to the lobby for drink refills! Loved the under the building parking, so easy to drive when we needed to.
Spent one day at the pool, no parks and started at Jambo house, had a GREAT lunch at The Mara and then hopped back to the Kidani pool. I think we (adults only) enjoyed our time at Jambo house more, but mostly for the larger selection at The Mara, including the larger selection of soda for the refill mugs we all had.

We did have great weather, with only one day of showers on Friday. Our theme park trips were crowded at times and great other times, I did go to the recommened park on most days. Friday was VERY crowded at AK, was the most crowded day we had. Could not believe the line to get food at Pizzafari Friday, we quickly left, got a snack to carry us a little longer and returned to Jambo house to get lunch, another great counter service meal.

I will return for sure, loved this resort, our first time at Kidani, we had stayed at Jambo before with the same couple, but will always return to Kidani for two big reasons: the privacy of the master suite and the theme park buses stop at Kidani first. In the master suite at Jambo House you have to go into the hall to move between the bedroom and bathroom. I did not like that when sharing a room with another couple. If we were alone I might consider Jambo again, but as long as we are bringing guests I will always choose Kidani over Jambo.

Which savanna were you on? Since you were close to the lobby, I'm guessing that it was Sunset. Did you get good views of the animals?

Yes, we were on the Sunset Savanah. We had GREAT views of the giraffe, they placed tree branches in a container every afternoon right by our balcony and the giraffe would all come over to eat! The zebra and ostrich were also very close on many occasions. The other animals came close less often but did come by at some point. Great viewing!

Awesome! I have been on Pembe and Sunset at Kidani and enjoyed both of them.

The bus stopping first at Kidani is one of the best things about this resort! It's like having private limo service! The private master bath in the 1 or 2 BR is great, too. We have been fortunate to get rooms close to the lobby on our trips to Kidani. I am sure we will get one of the rooms far away soon. We also love the quite peacefulness of the lobby area. So many of the resorts have a loud, boisterous chaos to them, but not Kidani. We are looking forward to our trip in October. We have a standard view, to preserve points, but were hoping to get into a pool view room.

We are staying at Kidani (first time at AKV) in June with my siblings, their families, and my mom. Each family has a studio room. I'm so looking forward to it. I may have to call and put in a request for the Sunset Savannah ... my nieces are already talking about wanting to see giraffes and zebras!
