I really had a great time. It was very hot and humid, but coming back to the villas in the afternoon really made for a relaxing stay.
I did not put in any room requests, I had booked a studio and was solo, so I was ready to just wing it.
The CMs were very nice and helpful, the room was clean and everything worked fine and nothing was missing. The hallways always appeared clean as did the lobbies etc.
My room was 376, just about as far out as possible but was really a good location for me. The view from the room was pretty good, to the far right was the parking lot, but to the left was a canal and the quiet pool. I just kept my chair on the balcony turned to the left.
I was just a room or 2 away from the stairs, so instead of walking through the hallways I just used the stairs each day. To get the bus to the MK or the AK I just went down the stairs and took the walkway over to the bus stop, took about 5 minutes at best. To get to Epcot, I went down the stairs around the pool through the breezway and then part way down the walk and cut over to the walkway that ran along the far end of the building. To get to DHS I just walked over towards the Market and went outside by way of the lobby.
I just love the Boardwalk area, it was a great place to walk each morning, I got plenty of exercise.
I did not use the boats at all, walked to Epcot and DHS each time. The one thing I noticed was that the boats did not seem to run very early. I walked each day around 7:00 or 7:30 and did not see any boats at all. It made me wonder what people that stay at the Epcot resorts do if they wanted to go to DHS for an early Character Breakfast? It seems like a long walk if you got little ones. This morning (Friday) I was back to the resort by 8:00 and did not even see a boat by then.
I really did not like the refrigerator selection at the MarketPlace, the selection over at the General Store at the Boardwalk was better. They actually had Sprite Zero, so I stocked up over there during one of my walks.
I did see something interesting on Monday, I was on my way to Epcot for an early tour, when I came down the sidewalk to see a young girl outside with a little dog. In all my years of going to WDW this is the first time I've seen someone with a pet.
I did not say anything to the girl because she was just a child, I looked around and did not see an adult, and I did not know what room the family was in. Each time I walked by I looked in the same area but never saw the dog again. If it had been an adult with the dog I would have certainly said something.
I loved the quiet pool and the hot tub, very relaxing after walking in the parks in the evening. I even went to Stormalong Bay one day just after 5:00. I asked one of the Cast members about getting a wrist band, and was told that they don't bother with them after 5:00. The pool was open until 10:00 but I guess the crowds clear out after 5:00.
I only used the Ship Shape club to weigh myself each morning and did not use any of the equipment so I can not comment on the fitness center.
I was quite pleased with the bus transportation. The longest I ever waited was about 15 minutes. Almost each time I used the bus, the only resorts that it dropped off or picked up was the YC and the BC. The only time the bus stopped at the other Epcot resorts was one night after MK closed, I had stopped and gotten something to eat the Bakery so the crowds were pretty well cleared out, they directed us to the bus stop marked for the Swan, Dolphin and the Boardwalk. There was only about 10 people altogether so I guess it was just easier to use 1 bus for all of the resorts.
I flew SW and used RAC for my return flight this is the first time I was able to use the service, it was nice not to have to haul my suitcase through the airport.
I would stay at the Beach Club Villas again in a heart beat, if I decide to again on in the future I would consider BCV.

Your vacation sounds very nice.

I will be there in a little more than a week.

I am looking forward to relaxing at Stormalong Bay.
I didn't know they stayed open until 10 PM, it always looks deserted at night.
I am surprised about the wrist band not being needed after 5 PM.
(Only because I have terrible thoughts of wishing I had snuck in to SAB when staying at the Boardwalk a couple of years ago).

I can't wait to buy our pool noodles again.
I can't wait to buy our refillable mugs too.
I can't wait to visit the Boardwalk Bakery and Beaches N Creme.

I'm glad you had a great trip.

We only stayed at BCV one night...we usually do BWV but are taking a 3 day cruise in May & thought we'd like to enjoy the BCV pool area after the trip & not go commando on the parks. Reading your experience makes me ready to book next month! thanks.

Great report. We love all the resorts in that area because of the ability to walk to Epcot - especially nice to walk "home" each evening without needing transportation. We often watch the fireworks at Epcot from the beach at the villas.

You are really making me miss "home". Thanks for the great TR.

Solo trip sounds dreamy:goodvibes

What is RAC?
Thanks
Kerri
RAC is the Resort Airline Check in. This is the service where you take your luggage to the counter at the resort and they check you and your luggage in for your flight.
Any resort guest can use this service as long as their airline participates, and Southwest just signed up this year.
