Just back from a Carnival cruise. My impressions of Carnival vs Disney

I did like the disembarkation better on disney. I liked the passenger mix better on Disney...very friendly. Although, since we cruised out of New Orleans they were a fun, friendly crowd.

The shows on Carnival were good but I didn't like some of the skimpy costumes. We mostly skipped the shows...which gave us more family time in the evenings. I feel compelled to go to the DCL shows.

Again, Carnival food quality was far superior...with the exception of Palos.

Kids loved funship Freddy. Son is STILL sleeping with stuffed Freddy every night. Loved Carnival's Kareoke.

Loved Carnival wait staff and room steward. Loved Bed. Loved Prices.

We sail on Disney Magic in about 28 days!!! Can't wait. No cruise booked after that...but I imagine there is another Carnival Cruise and another DCL cruise in our fairly near future.

I agree with TexasGirl 100%! I don't have small kids to compare that area, but our Carnival Pride cruise was so above my expectations. Hands down they had the best food of all the cruises we have been on so far. And David's was very close to Palo in food quality for dinner.

The things I missed from our DCL cruises on other ships: the rotational restaurants, the characters popping up here and there, and Palo brunch!
