We were there from 6/23-7/2 and had a great room in the Boca Chica building. The resort was beautiful. We all loved it.

details, details!!! what was your view? what floor were you on?
did you go in the new pool?
how was the service at the GF?
we want to know! :)

Laura :):D :D :D :D

Definately details, we are going 10/26 with DH, DS and DD. I'm barely going to make the wait! Especially notes on new pool area.

We're leaving in 3 days & I'd love to hear anything & everything about the GF :) . Did you find it 'stuffy" or is it like any other resort?

We stayed in room 8330 in Boca Chica. It was a garden view room but we had a wonderful view of the courtyard pool. I don't think there is a bad view at the resort. We loved both pools. My children are 9,7 and 4 and they all loved the water slide in the new pool and the waterfall. I loved the slide too. We swam our last night there and had the entire pool to ourselves. At about 9pm the water pageant went by and you could see it from the pool. My only complaint was that the slide closed at 8pm and we wanted more!! When we swam in the courtyard pool at night we could see the 10pm fireworks. It was so nice, just relaxing in the water and enjoying the show.
The service at the resort was wonderful,we had asked for a refrig. and microwave and both were there when we checked in. Housekeeping left lots of chocolates for my DH and everyday they arranged the stuffed animals in different places.
My daughter and I went to the spa one day, she had her first pedicure and I had a manicure and pedicure. We really enjoyed it,although it was pretty pricey. About $130 before a tip. I probably wouldn't do that again but it was a nice experience.
We went to 1900 Park Faire for breakfast and other than Cindy's breakfast that was the nicest character meal we had. We also enjoyed the Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. The food was good and the characters wonderful,Chip and Dale kept tickling my 4 year old daughter. One night the kids went to the mousekeeters club while Dh and I went to Narcoosees for dinner they enjoyed their evening and we had the best meal of our trip. We could see the water pageant and at 10 pm they lowered the lights and we watched the fireworks with the music piped in. The host,Luciano, was wonderful,he even went outside and wiped the condensation off the winddows so we would have a clear view of the show. We enjoyed the meal so much that we brought the kids back on another night. My daughter loved the chicken soup.
Since we had never stayed at any other resort we have nothing to compare it to. We did however ride the monorail to the Poly and eat at Ohana's one night which was fun. But, I like the light, bright atmosphere at the GF. We went to the Contemporary for dinner one night at the Concourse Steakhouse. The service there was excellent, and we loved the gift shop downstairs. My favorite was all the different colored M&M's at the candy shop. I love M&M's. The weather was a little wet but it didn't stop us from doing anything. WE went to the parks early and usually when the rains came(about 3pm) we were on our way out of the park or home in the pool. Most evenings it cleared up and we were able to enjoy the evening too. We went to Downtown Disney,DH played golf and we really enjoyed the parks and the resort. I don't think I could find anything negative to say and we were there for 10 days. If I had to sum it up I would use the word magical. Nancy

Sounds like you had a wonderful time Nancy. We can't wait to get there.

I can't believe I'm up reading these boards at this hour...we begin our drive in less than 7 hours. I'm soooo excited. DD was in bed & sound asleep by 10 (she spent the day on the boat with DH & then all evening in the pool with my 5yr. old twin nieces so is absolutely exhausted!) Wish I was :D It's going to be a long drive if I don't get some sleep.

I'm so happy to hear such positive comments about the GF. We kept second-guessing our choice of resorts but after reading your report...I'm glad we stayed with the GF.

Thank you for the report... it was just like being there again! :D

Nancel.5, what a wonderful vacation you had! And I second CaliforniaDreaming's request -- where are the PICTURES?!! We want to see your pictures! ;)

hi, so nice to hear you had a wonderful stay at the gf. one question, please. what mode of transportation did you use to get to the animal kingdom and mgm; and were you happy with it?

blanche - We took the bus from the GF to Animal Kingdom and the wait was not bad at all. ;) For MGM Studios we took the monorail to the TTC. :)

We had a 8:05 Ps at donald's breakfastosaurus so we took the Monorail to the TTC and the bus to the AK we were there in plenty of time( We left the GF about 7:15) a very early morning.
We also took the bus to Downtown Disney and found that it took us a long time to get home, about 45 minutes and the kids were sleepy . We drove from NJ so we had our car. By the time we went to MGM,later in the week, we wised up and drove ourselves. Very quick and easy. If I had it to do over again I would take the car to AK and DD too. But if you don't have a car the buses/monorail will get you there it just takes longer.
