Just back from 8 days at Poly! PICS ADDED

OMGosh! Can I just tell you that I am in LOVE...LOVE....LOVE....did I mention LOVE...with the Poly! Gorgeous, immaculate, a totally relaxing oasis from the madness of the parks. This was my first stay at a Disney Resort, and my DH & DS's first Disney trip. They loved the Poly just as much. I don't think I'll ever want to stay anywhere else....EVER!

It was absolutely FANTASTIC! Not a single problem. We received our request for 2nd floor Niue. I knew there wouldn't be a balcony, but it was a trade-off we made so I can be assured a close proximity to a DSA.

This building was in an excellent location. Right in the center of everything! This used to be a smoking-optional building, before Disney went smoke-free, but you would never know it. My husband is very sensitive to a smoke smell, and I asked if he could tell it was once a smoking building and he could not in the least.

Mousekeeping was TERRIFIC. I was one of those worried, given the recent negative posts, but it was top notch. Got one towel Mickey head upon arrival, but none throughout the stay. It was no big deal at all, since all I really wanted was a clean room, which we got....EVERY DAY. From what I could gather, our room was cleaned by no later than noon each day (probably even earlier).

Once I figure out how to upload my pictures from my new camera, I'll post some of my favs. Oh how I wish I were there right now!!! I want to go back so desperately! I'm saving my pennies so we can try to go again next year (although my DH thinks it will be a couple years....uhm....NOT )

We LOVED Capt'n Cooks. It wasn't very crowded during our stay, so it was easy to get around, place our order & find a table. We didn't eat there as often as I expected, or would have liked, but we thought the food was quite good.

The first day we arrived, we had lunch. My DH & I had the double cheeseburger & fries, along with Asian Slaw & Poly chips. It was good. I can't remember what my son ate.

Another day, we got more fries (they were totally yummy) and the grown-up grilled cheese...mmmmmmmmm mmmmmmmm good!

Yes!! We had dinner at both O'Hanna's & Kona, and both were VERY yummy!! I had sky high expectations about the Bread Pudding w/Banana Fosters sauce at O'Hanna's and it exceeded my expecations! It truly was divine & to die for yummy! The food was quite good also. Service started out great, and then declined just a bit. I've heard people saying that they've been rushed through their meal, but we did not have that experience at all. I've never seen my 6 year old son eat so much!

We thought Kona was fabulous too! The bread and the honey & macadamia nut butter was incredibly scrumptuous! I had the Crab Cakes as an appetizer, my DH had the Kona Salad, & my DS had the Chicken Soup. All were very good. All three of us had the Filet Mignon for dinner & it was excellent...like butter. For dessert, I had the Kilahuea Torte...OMGosh...it was YUMMO! DH had the Banana Creme Brulee (which my son ate cuz it was so delicious), and DS had the make-your-own Sundae.

We also did the Lilo & Stitch Character Breakfast at O'Hanna. It was fun, the food was hot, but it was just regular breakfast food. We did enjoy the Mickey waffles A LOT!

We will DEFINITELY eat at both O'Hanna & Kona when we go again!!!

The pool was pretty warm, yet refreshing, except for Friday, 11/2...the water was FREEZING that day!

BLECH! The weather really was not as nice as it should have been, however, given what was causing the yucky weather, it sure could have been a lot worse!

There was a tropical storm (Noel) just hanging around the Bahamas, which caused lots of rain & wind for the majority of our trip. However, it was pushed out by a cold front the day before we were leaving, so our last day, the weather was PERFECT! Beautiful blue sky, no clouds, no humidity and about 78 degrees! That's the weather we were hoping for & expecting for most of our vacation, but at least we didn't have a hurricane! The gorgeous weather was predicted for the entire upcoming week when we left!

I would go again the last week of October in a heartbeat though, cuz this was kind of a fluke thing for that time of year.
