We just got back from our first trip to WDW. We stayed at SSR for 7 nights and 8 days. The resort is beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. As with every vacation, nothing is perfect, and we had some minor glitches, but we came home with hidden mickey's twinkling in our eyes:lmao: If anyone has any questions about the resort (from a newbie point of view) or about any of the parks (we did them all and TL), feel free to ask. I am still in Disney mode and would love to answer any questions. :flower3:

We will be at SSR next week!! I can't wait! We've stayed at value resorts before and we're actually not on a free upgrade, just chose SSR. I am really looking forward to a superb stay, not just a soso vacation. We have a condo on North Myrtle Beach and have been there many many times, it gets old. I would love it if DVC members would tell me why being a DVC member wouldn't get old like any other condo ownership... I'm really not trying to be obtuse. We're serious about DVC... just trying to make an informed decision. Thank you all in advance for any replies!! We're planning on a great week next week!! WOOHOO!!

Well, we are not DVC owners, but I can tell you this. The resorts are cush. I loved the fact that we had a kitchen and a washer and dryer. They both came in quite handy. The pools, especially the Springs pool were great. We went to the Congress park pool (quiet pool) and the Springs pool. It is quiet there (peaceful). It's like a home away from home, truly. The spa tub was great, and I liked the glass enclosed shower. Alot of bathroom space in the one and two bedroom villas. (We were eventually moved to a 2 bedroom villa due to an air conditioning problem). It was fantastic.

Thank you for posting this...

I leave at 1pm tomorrow for WDW we are staying at ASMu for 1 night then moving over to SSR for 7 nights!

I can't wait so glad you had a great time and this gave me even more to smile about. I am in Super excited mode!

Glad you had a great time!

What section were you in? Were the crowds bad?

Thanks

For me it's the magic of being in WDW....

Having so many choices of where to stay in WDW with my points
is another.
Every DVC feels totally different. For me it is nice to stay in different
DVC's and get a great resort experience, while
still being in the heart of the magic:goodvibes

Once you stay in a DVC villa you'll know why. If you love being at WDW then DVC just makes it all the better. We rented points on our first stay because we had a new grandbaby with us and thought a villa would be nicer for him. We fell in love with having a full kitchen and actual furniture to sit on after the long park days. Not to mention the washer and dryer in the larger units. We look forward to our DVC stays and have even planned more trips because of them. Have a wonderful stay at SSR. It's our "home" and we love it!

We were in Congress Park. It was great. Just a short trip to DTD. The crowds weren't too bad after Labor Day. We pretty much walked right on everything. Have fun on your vacation. Be safe. :)

Unfortunately, that's always a consideration no matter where you purchase a timeshare. How many times do you hear from people "You're going to disney again?". For us, we love it and yes some times we vacation other places and either rent or bank our points. Evidentually though, we make it back to Disney.
