We ate at:

Crystal Palace breakfast
Coral Reef
Chefs de France
Mama Melrose
Le Cellier
Planet Hollywood
Concourse Steakhouse

CS:
Cosmic Rays
POFQ
Pizza Planet (DHS)
Columbia Harbor House
Tangierine Cafe
Flame Tree BBQ

We had no problems on the DDP, servers were excellent with the exception of Mama Melrose which was "eh" We were very happy with everything- came home with only 1 snack credit left, and we had planned to use it to get 6 beignets at POFQ before we boarded ME, but we were able to get on a bus early that was just leaving, so we did that instead.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Do you think you were able to save a lot of money being on the plan, or for you was it just convenient? I am still trying to figure out if its worth it.

Was Planet Hollywood really loud? I know DS would love this place but I'm afraid to try it for the noise! And DS tends to insist on a place if he loves it (we have to do Sci-Fi every trip, now, and I can think of other places I'd rather eat at . . . ).

We saved $- simply because we ate the most expensive items on the menu at 4 of the places- we had planned it out well before leaving, knew what we'd order at each place (we both love steak), so we knew ahead of time we'd come out ahead of what we paid.

Planet Hollywood was ok- in hindsight we might have tried something else (or paid OOP for another LeCellier meal!), just because it was "OK" - the food was fine, service was fine; it wasn't too lud when we were there, but it was also a Tuesday night and still early.

Ooh looks like a great lineup that you ate at!

Did you notice the servers being grumpy about the new tipping policy at all?

Can you post more details about Mama Melrose's. I was thinking of booking this for a fantasmic dinner package, but I haven't heard very good reviews. It sounds like the servie wasn't very good, but how was the food?

OhioStateBuckeye......

Be ready to eat! We did the DDP in Aug. and while we spent more than we would have not on the plan, we never would order that much either. We would probably not order an app, or share one. And we probably would not order dessert, or share one. While it seems like the numbers work, we don't think we would do it again (unless it's free). Plus, every time you want to eat you have to really plan ahead and make sure you have credit, etc. We still paid plenty for extra snacks and drinks.

Just my opinion

- Mama Melroses was OK- service wasn't too great, I sat with an empty glass often and no one seemed to really take care of us- the food was ok, it wasn't the best but it wasn't bad, either. We had the chicken parm.

We didn't pay OOP for any snacks- we had water and breakfast foods delivered from garden grocer and ate in our room before leaving each morning. For us, we had a great experience, and I don't see HOW anyone could eat the greater amounts of food on last year's plan!

We had no grumpy servers at all, in fact we had some of the BEST service ever- especially CR, CdF, LeCellier these servers were AWESOME. We tipped 20% everywhere but MM, where we only tipped 10%. We had cash for each tip, but also used our KTTW for OP expenses (had to have the cheese soup at Le Cellier, DH ordered wine a few times). If there were kinks, we didn't see it.

I think if you have a positive attitude and treat the servers well, you'll get great service- we saw some people just being rude in general- with an "entitlement" and demanding attitude. They likely didn't receive the service we did ;)

I am so bummed for you! They have amazing steak at Mama Melrose, the Steak Gorgonzola is FANTASTIC! I even had to have it without the Gorgonzola in October (Because I'm pregnant) and it was still great.

I know you mentioned that you and your DH are steak lovers - it's a bummer you missed out on this one. :sad1:
