In short it was wonderful. We had the entertainment rate and we got all of the Loews "perks" and no one seemed to question it at all. We received our wine the first night, the paper every day and my husband used the fitness center each day at no charge. Our room was very nice and the bathrooms...my gosh, they are just huge. If anyone has any questions, I would be happy to respond.

Glad you had a good time!

Did you have to ask for the perks? Or did they do them automatically? Did you get a room upgrade?

Welcome back, emamick!

Gee, I guess it depends on the person you speak to whether you get your Loews perk or not....

Well, I'm glad you got yours! :teeth:

Our first visit to the Portofino will be in July. Any info would be appreciated. Was access to the parks easy? Did you take the boat or walk? Was your room convenient to boats, walking, pools, etc.? Were elevators convenient to rooms, or did getting to your room mean walking down long corridors? Which pool was best for kids? Are the rooms nice? I hear the beds are really comfy. Thanks for any info you can share.

We stayed at the Portofino a couple of years ago (would you believe $129/nt) and found the hotel awesome. This was prior to the Hard Rock or Royal Pacific opening. Our room was in the east wing and was not that close to the water taxi. I believe the west wing is closer and is by the beach pool with a slide (good for the kids). The water taxi ride from the hotel to the park is not long, but I think the walk from Royal Pacific or Hard rock is shorter. The restaurants at the Portofino are very good and plentiful. I found the room to be very big and the bed so comforting I didn't want to get out (and I have a bad back!). The walk from the car park was a bit long as compared to the Royal Pacific (I have not been to the HR yet - will be there in August). I'll use the valet this time. I have heard great things about the spa at Portofino and will try it out April 25/26 when my wife and I are staying at the Portofino ($149/nt). I am curious about the kid programs at the hotels. I have a 7 and 11 y/o and want to learn more about those programs for my whole family trip in August. I have seen posts from people who have used the services but they had 3 and 4 y/o kids. So, if anyone has details about the kid programs, let me know (price, activiteis, etc.)
