We didn't eat at Ohana's yet (we will this September), but we loved loved and loved Kona Cafe... really great food... a must do every single time we go...

Fish2girls, we stayed at the Poly for the first time this past Feb. (first week) Third floor Samoa, vol. pool view, and I loved it! Thought we'd been upgraded to lagoon view when I stood on the balcony! My TA helped me request a good room since I'd never been, and she was right on...
We never felt we had to walk so far, and never were bothered by a lot of noise. Keep in mind, however, that we went the first week of Feb. so the pool is not exactly full!!!
As for discounts, the only one I knew about at the time was AAA, and it saved me 15% off the rack rate at the Poly. With their rates, anything helps!!

I was thinking of using AAA ,we have used them on our last DV at AKL. We wanted to go Thanksgiving week 2008, my DH and I figured out that it would be under the value season because Thanksgiving falls on the 27th of November.Do you know if the Disney season dates ever change per year or do they stay the same - just the rates change?

I think requesting Samoa or Fiji would be fine for me. I would rather stay on the 3rd floor because you can't hear the people above you walking around their room. That's just my opinion

Welcome back and I'm so glad that you had a great trip! We'll be staying at the Polynesian LVC for the fourth time, in 2 weeks, and I'm so excited that I could scream!!!

I believe that the actual dates do change, according to when the different holidays and season fall. For example, one year value season at the deluxe resorts may start on July 7th, and another year it could be the 9th.

Glad you had such a great experience. We will be there for our second visit the end of August. We had Samoa first floor and will request the same again since the convience was just what we were looking for.
I couldnt dream of staying anywhere else!!

I"m so glad that you had a great time at the poly. We were there in June a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful time also.
We were in the Hawaii bldg and did not request a balcony because at the time I was not aware of the second floor not having one. Then I discovered this website and read about it and thought I would just wait and see what happens and we were really lucky with a balcony which was really nice to have.
