Had my first cruise on the Dream after going on Fantasy a couple of times, would be happy to answer any questions people may have! I did a night at the MVMCP on 12/1, stayed at Art of Animation, then took DCL transport directly to the port. First time trying this as I had always rented a car prior.
Some random thoughts post-cruise:
- Having only been on 7-night Fantasy cruises before this one, I found the 3-night really fast-paced. Since the Dream and Fantasy looked so much alike, I already knew my way around the ship, but for new cruisers I imagine there needs to be a bit of time to step back and take it all in.
- The lines for characters were quite long (CMs ended the lines pretty early). Unless you've already been on the cruise before or are really into characters, might be worth checking out some other activities instead to make better use of time considering the overall length.
- Shows were awesome, I especially liked Golden Mickeys. I had previously watched this is HKDL but there were some changes to it on the Dream version.
- Vanellope's was surprisingly well-priced (I think it was around $2.95 for a small size), and the smallest cup had 3 scoops! Loved the flavors as well!
- My first Christmas cruise, but the decor was lovely and the Winter Ball had some really cool effects. That said, I have a personal preference of the Halloween on the Seas cruise which I had tried on the Fantasy.
- Not sure if it's my memory, but I seem to recall a lot of shows running twice on the Fantasy (like See Ya Real Soon) to just split out the crowds a bit. The dream seemed to have many atrium shows only run once and as a result there are a LOT of people packed in to try to see.
- Gingerbread House making was offered, still plenty of slots left when I got onboard around 2pm.
- Stayed on the ship at Nassau, seemed like this was a pretty popular choice as the deck and Aquaduck still had quite a bit of people.
- Went to Disney Tunes Trivia, which was a really good challenge! Some were really pretty obscure, but was definitely fun.
Unfortunately I left the Navigators on-board by accident, so will try to remember as much as I can!
