I everyone! We just got back home yesterday after a 10-night stay at the Fort. It still is, by far, my favorite place to camp. This trip had some ups and downs (most of our trips have been mostly ups!), but it was no fault of Disney. Everyone was wonderful as usual, and the weather was perfect!
We requested loop 800, and they were kind enough to put us there again. Our site wasn't ready, so we parked in the overflow area. This was about 10:30 am. DH & DD20 picked up the golf cart & cruised over to the 800 loop to check our site out. They came back & said the camper there was still fully set up. This was around 11:00 am. Around noon, me & DD rode the golf cart over again, and they were just starting to pack things up. Around 1:30, that rv pulled into the overflow lot & parked it. It looked like they were headed to the swimming pool. I was a little miffed because I thought check out was 11:00 am. I'm sure I was miffed a little easier than usual because it was super hot waiting (We brought our doxies, so I couldn't go to the pool to wait). Anyways, we finally got to our site, and I loved the spot!
We had some issues with our magic bands (it was the first day for the Fort to use them). A really nice CM named Damien at the lobby helped us get them fixed. I LOVED having FP+. We didn't have to worry about making rope drop, which was really nice. This was our first trip since my stroke from lupus, and I don't think I was quite ready yet. I wore out after our 3rd day, and I never could quite pull it together after that. I think the MNSSHP wore me out. It was worth it though -The Boo To You Parade was awesome!
Our DD woke up sick with a stomach bug on our last day, so we decided to start on our 20 hour drive home a day early since she really wanted to get home. On our way home, I got a call on my cell phone from the Fort - They wanted to make sure everything was ok since we left early! I thought that was so nice!
We made it home and got everything unpacked. We're hoping to try it again in a few years. We may need to do the parks a little differently next time - Maybe more time at the Fort and less time in the parks would help! In the meantime, I'll just have to read everyone else's trip reports to get my fix!
