Yes I did all these resorts all in one stay,I had never tried any WDW Resorts so I decided to do some hopping,it was very tiring but I do know what I like when I go in the future.I am not very computer savy so I will only post one resort at time so I won't be so agitated if I lose my post. These reviews are only my opinion, but I valued everyones input before my trip so I thought I would sure my thoughts. My 1st resort was FQ it was a charming looking resort,I checked in about 1:00 pm and there was not a room ready for me, I let the CM know all my requests, 3rd floor non-smoking river view corner room,I know thats alot of requests but you can't get them unless you ask,he told me they only have a second floor riverview for me and that the resort was soldout(gee I thought I was going off season)So I went to downtown disney(by boat a great perk)I went back to the resort alittle bit later and my room was ready it was cute and housekeeping seem to have done a good job.I decided to head to the ESPN to see my Green Bay Packers lose another game and when I returned to my room about 11pm and as soon as I entered the room I heard a baby in the next room screaming,I being a light sleeper knew this would be a problem,so I called the front desk and requested a room change for the morning, the front desk told me they could move me right know if I wanted,I said I was told they were sold out,she said no and they could give me a 3rd floor riverview, corner room,at this point I was pretty irritated that the cm lied to me at checkin and they were no where near being sold out,in fact the bellman laughed when I mentioned I thought they were soldout.I spent one night at FQ,it just didn't really impress me that much.I wasn't happy that the CM lied to me at checkin about being soldout, the thin walls and the lack of any water pressure in the shower so I decided this was not the resort for me. So when I woke up in the morning I called the front desk and asked if there was a chance of switching to a deluxe resort. After many discussions with the front desk they said they would move my dining package over to WL (my choice) woodview for $65.00 more a night,I snapped it up in a minute. So I left FQ and headed to MK and then about 10 pm that night I checked into WL to be continued........

I checked in at WL about 10:00 pm,this resort is gorgeous.I was so glad I switched to this resort, since I knew I was checking in late I had called early in the day and requested a room on a higher floor (a suggestion from a cm at FQ whose home resort is WL) they had me put in a 3rd floor room, she got permission from someone to put me on the 6th floor so I was very happy.I loved my room,I got a towel animal. There was no refrigerator in the room(I thought all deluxes had them) but they did bring me one for no charge.I was so sorry that my 2 nights I spent at this resort were so busy because I didn't have enough time to just enjoy the resort, next stop AKL CL........

Next stop,AKL CL,this was a 2 night splurge for me so I could enjoy the safaris they offer.I felt so special when I checked in with a desk in the lobby, they were so friendly and I felt really special. This resort is beautiful, the room was very nice (I got another towel animal)I did the sunset safari on Wednesday night and the sunrise safari on Thursday morning, these were very nice but I don't think I would invest the money again to stay CL.They have made some cutbacks in their lounge, they no longer have Jiko or Boma desserts.they serve treats that I can get at home, and I didn't like to have to ask everytime I wanted a glass of wine, the only person I found to be helpful in AKL CL was Sylvia who was awesome,I wasn't impressed with the other staff and was given fall information by a couple CL CM,I think if I stay there in the future I would be very happy with the savannah view,I don't think AKL CL is worth the money, unless you are not on a tight budget.

Can't wait to read the rest but, and please don't take offense, how can you judge a hotel after only one night and by your own admission, you wern't even there much. :confused3 Just an observance...

Thank you for the reviews so far. Can't wait to read the rest.

JMO here, but sometimes you just 'know' that you won't be happy at a certain place. I've experienced this a few times myself. Just a thought...

Thank you for the replies, noise is a big factor for me and I knew it would be a problem at FQ. I knew the water pressure problem would not go away so when I found out I could get the WL woods view for $65.00 dollars more a night I jumped on it and it was such a wonderful resort I knew I loved it immediately, the lobby was gorgeous, the rooms were wonderful although the beds were a bit high for a short person, but unfortunately the geyser wasn't working while I was there but I still love this resort!!!! I must say I did find out turbo toliets scare me at this resort.(lol)

The CM might have been telling the truth. When you got there the rooms were all booked or they were blocked out. They are just requestsand you did get several of your requests.

Next stop was BWI,I had been to the ESPN Zone earlier in my trip and thought the Boardwalk was a very exciting place and was looking forward to my stay here.I tried to do a quick checkin before my dinner reservation at Mamma Melrose to make sure I got a good room since I was doing Fantasmic and wouldn't be back until about 9:00 pm.I asked for a quiet courtyard view on a high floor,I was given a 3rd floor courtyard view room which was very far from the lobby(while atleast it should be quiet)I entered the room and there was a strong musty smell and they use some sort of overpowering air spray which is very strong,I called the front desk about the smell and they said housekeeping would bring a air purifier to eliminate the odor while I was gone to the park, that sounded fair to me so off to the park I went......to be continued.
I returned back from MGM about 8:30 pm and went back to my room, the smell was a little better but still there. I thought that if I opened up the patio door I could air it out,I then went to use the bathroom and the toliet backed up on me.I was starting to get a bad feeling about this resort and I still didn't have my luggage yet.I went to the front desk to see if I could possibly be moved over to the Yacht or Beach Club, they checked with their front desk and there were no open rooms for my 3 nights there or at any other WDW resort at all (isn't this off season)so I was stuck there for 3 nights. They only had a couple of rooms so they upgraded me to a marina view,I went to my new room and the 1st think I heard was a man out on the Boardwalk guessing peoples weight and age right out my window, yes it was a nice view but once I am in my room I want piece and quiet.I had a diiner reservation at YSH so I left my new room to head over to the Yacht Club, this resort is very nice and seems much more classy than the BWI,I would like to stay there in the future. To be continued....
I got back to my room about 11:00 pm,the room decor was ok but I wasn't that impressed with it,it certainly isn't up to the quality of WL or AKL.I went in to take a shower and the shower curtain was torn and there was black mold in the shower and a used bar of soap in the tub, housekeeping is really lacking at this resort.I then got into bed and looked up at the ceiling and saw a spiders web over the bed.I went to sleep and I heard a strange sound I couldn't figure out what it was and the I realized it was the man in the next room snoring. The walls in this resort are very thin, you can hear screaming kids in room just walking down the halls.Needless to say I am a light sleeper and didn't sleep very well so at 6:00 am I was down at the front desk asking for a new room.to be continued.....
I head down to the front desk at 6:00 am,bags under my eyes, hair a mess and I get a wonderful CM and explain my problem to him.I am sure some people think I am hard to please and I am, but I am spending alot of money to stay at a deluxe resort and I expect deluxe accomadations and refuse to accept an inferior room. The gentleman helping me was wonderful he said he had 2 rooms open and he would show me the rooms and let me decide what I wanted. The 1st room was nice,it had an couch and 2nd TV and was a marina view.I told him that this room seemed more expensive and I wasn't willing to spend more money,he thought it was on the same level I was at(I already had the free upgrade to marina view)so he told me he would just give me this room if I liked it because the 2nd room was not nearly as nice.So I took the new room ,we walked back to the lobby to get my key and he found out the room was $150.00 more a night than I was paying(it was a deluxe room) but he was giving it to me for no charge because of all the problems I had since checking in, he was awesome I wish I could remember his name. This room was nice but I would never spend $450.00 to stay in that room, you can get conceirge level at most resorts for that money.I would never recommend this resort to anyone,it is not worth the deluxe rates(JMO)as far as location goes it was nice to walk to Epcot but I had a real problem with the fact that we had to share boats and buses with Yacht and Beach Club,Dolphin and Swan at an average of $300.00 a night for these resorts you would think each deluxe resort would have their own transportation,I don't appreciate standing on a bus after a long day because one bus accomadates so many deluxe resorts,or having to wait for a 2nd boat because the 1st one is full(this was suppose to be off season)I think Disney ought to eat into their profits alittle bit and hire more bus drivers and have more boats to accomadate those people staying at their deluxe resorts(JMO).The night before I checked out I stopped at the BWI front desk and asked a sweet CM if she could call and ask the Poly from desk to please give me a rehabbed room,I had so many problems at BWI,I really wanted a new room so she told me she would see what she could do.To be continued.........

We had a refrigerator in our room when we stayed at WL last week.

Reviews are meant to be the reviewers opinion and that is what you are giving us. I will be staying at some of the resorts that you have stayed at and I appreciate your opinions. Keep them coming :goodvibes

I checked into the Poly at about 3pm hoping for a new rehabbed room,I got a new room in Rapi Nui(yipee).I walked to my loghouse with much anticipation,I open my door and walk inside, that's it I have died and went to heaven, the room was GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!I had a view of the parking lot and I don't care,I never want to leave this room!!!!!!!!!!I had 2 really great towel animals(does everyone get these at the POLY?)This is the resort they send all the good housekeepers to work because it as really clean.I left my housekeeper $5.00 on one of the towel animals and she had noticed I snatched up the Disney bath products for souveniers and she left me double products the next day.I didn't have any noise issues at all at this resort, but the few things that I didn't like was it was really hard to find your way around at night if you hadn't been there before the loghouses are not signed very well and every time I would ask somebody walking around if I was at the right building they would laugh and say it wasn't signed very well, the other thing is there is only one ice machine and elevator on each floor and that can be along walk if you are on the other side of the hall.I really did love this resort,I don't know that I would have loved it as much if I got an old room,I was afraid to check out and go the the Royal Pacific at Universal because the Poly was so nice. The Poly was definetely the best room I stayed in during my resort hopping experience, but I think I really liked the WL and AKL because the lobby and restaurants are all in the same building and the rooms were very nice there also.I was lucky enough to discover 3 great resorts.I will be posting my RPR review on the Universal resort board later if anyone is interested. Thanks for listening!!!!!! :)

I must say that my DH and I just stayed at POFQ for 3 nights about 3 weeks ago. Although it was a charming little resort- neither of us had that "WOW" factor that we have gotten in the past from other resorts (mostly deluxes). We had an issue with mousekeeping- I did a post about 2 weeks back on this. Don't get me wrong- we were at disneyworld- we had a great time!..... I just don't forsee us returning to FQ any time soon.

I agree that you can't get an accurate feel of the service provided by the resort in this brief of a time, but you can tell if you like the room size, amenties, lobby area, pool, quietness of the resort, etc. The things that do not change on a daily basis.

At least the OP admitted she is hard to please, so hopefully everyone will be nice in response. I would love a peak at her Resort file, though.

I would be happy to answer any questions you have about my resort file,I asked to move from FQ because it was not my cup of tea,I loved WL,no room change there, loved AKL,no room change there.I hated BWI,but they had plumbing issues in my 1st room which I can't control.I loved my room at the Poly and yes when I went to RPR I also asked for a room change because when I asked for a quiet room I don't expect a connecting room.(the guy who checked me in was a putz)I am a light sleeper and noise is a real problem for me that is why I ask for a quiet room.I expect to get quality for the premium rates I am paying.
Thanks!!!!!

So glad to hear you loved the Polynesian!! We are staying in the Hawaii longhouse in a few short months! Welcome back,,, what a busy time moving you had during your stay!!!!!

surprised the WL did not have a fridge. I have had one every time I stayed there.

Sorry to hear you were unhappy with POFQ. We stayed there for 8 nights last month and had a wonderful stay. No issues with noise, mousekeeping, or water pressure and the resort was sold out for Thanksgiving week. We loved our stay and plan to go back. We have never stayed at the deluxe resorts so I can't compare them to the moderates. However, after reading many posts, it seems like the majority of people that normally select the deluxe, then try the moderates are disappointed for any number of reasons. The simple fact is you are not going to get the same amenities at the moderate and value resorts that you are at the deluxe. You will be disappointed if you think you are.

Also glad to hear this report. We'll be in the Hawaii longhouse in about three weeks and can't wait. We stayed at the Poly our last trip as well in 11/2003, so we'll be interested in seeing the new rooms.

THANKS for the reviews. My family did our first BWI stay over Thanksgiving and we also were absolutely UNIMPRESSED :guilty: . We had room 3227 and it was a deluxe concierge room that reeked. They had to send in an air purifier for us, too. (After many requests - and they first tried to just get away with a Fabreeze treatment!!! - Caught redhanded by my teenage son who was out on the balcony!) We left our sliders open for 12 hours when we went out for the day because the room smelled so horrible it made me retch. The housekeeping was awful for us, too. I will never stay at BWI again. Yuck. You are lucky you didn't pay $575/nt like we were stuck doing. :guilty: There was NOTHING open for us to move to- I checked every morning and eve. Live and learn........

Still waiting for that executive housekeeper to phone -lol. The duty manager told us she would have her call us on Monday Nov 28. No call yet. Housekeeping at BWI is terrible.
