We had a wonderful trip, May 3- May 6. Now that I have recovered somewhat I can give you some reviews!
May 3
50's Prime Time- lunch
I ordered the pot roast, after a long debate between that and the fried chicken. It was AMAZING!!! Soooo tender and flavorful! It sat on top of a small pile of mashed potatoes and had shaved carrots, celery and onion on top. The portion of roast was huge, but I could have used a little more mashed potatoes. I am drooling at the mouth just remembering it.
My cousin ordered a chicken sandwich, I believe it had ham, cheese, and some other toppings, and came with fries. She liked the sandwich, but it was huge and she was only able to eat half.
DD ordered the pbj and chips, which was just a Smuckers uncrustable- she was happy with it, though. DS got the hot dog and fries, it was fine. The fries served there are the crinkle cut type and were really good. I later found out that Disney does not serve the same fries throughout the parks, there are several different kinds.
For dessert my cousin and I shared the S'mores. I don't like chocolate and my cousin doesn't like marshmallows, so the only reason we had for ordering this is that the picture in the viewfinder seduced us
. I ate the top layer of toasted marshmallows and she ate the chocolate and graham cracker layers. DD had the pbj shake and DS had a strawberry shake. Tasty, but so big that they were only able to drink a little bit.
Our server, I think named Rebecca?, was EXCELLENT. We really enjoyed it and I can not wait to go back!!!
Polynesian counter service- dinner
I can't remember if it was called Captain Cook's or Cook's Corner, it was something like that. But once we ate their food we took to calling it Captain Crap's. It was truly hideous, please- if you are staying at the Poly do not waste any money here. We weren't expecting fine dining by any means and I will eat pretty much anything. But I hope I never see the inside of this place again.
I had the BBQ sandwich and fries, cousin and DS had chicken strips and fries, DD had cheese pizza. You will never see me turn down BBQ, even cheap microwave sandwiches I will eat. But the meat on this one tasted gross and the sauce was awful. Fries were bland and hard. The chicken strips also tasted awful and had a rubbery texture. The pizza tasted funny, but it was just a microwave pizza and I always think they taste off. We ended up throwing the food away and ordering a pizza from Domino's.
May 4
We ate some cereal that we had brought for breakfast. Headed to MK and ate some snacks as we wondered. DD had a bag of chips, DS had an Itzakadoozie. I finally got to have a Dole Float!!! It was good, but since I am a pineapple juice-aholic, I think next time I will ask for less ice cream and more juice. Cousin had a funnel cake with strawberries and powdered sugar. I also came across my new favorite snack, I have never seen it mentioned here on the boards so I hope someone reading this will try it and enjoy it as much as I did- the samosas from the egg roll cart in Adventureland!!! Wow, these are delicious. They are dough triangles- almost like phyllos (sp?), stuffed with a creamy mixture of curried vegetables. They have some kick but are not too hot at all. Two of them for $1.60, but I could have eaten a dozen. I am still kicking myself for not getting a dozen of them to snack on the rest of the day and night!
Liberty Tree Tavern- dinner
I have read an even number of good/bad reviews for LTT so was a little apprehensive. However, we had a really good time. The food was not as good as a home-made Thanksgiving dinner, but very tasty and filling. The salad was very fresh and we all loved the vinaigrette dressing. The rolls were my favorite part, they were a little sweet and the butter seemed like it had honey and almond in it- I would love to have had the rolls and butter for breakfast. The meat platter consisted of flank steak which my cousin and I really enjoyed- it was a little dry but had good flavor. The turkey was good- for white meat
(I am a dark meat person!). I didn't like the ham, it tasted like honey ham and I like my ham salty not sweet.
Mashed potatoes were good, we asked for more of these. I don't eat cheese, but everyone said the mac and cheese was fine. I really like the vegetable- julienned carrots and green beans. Whatever these had been cooked in gave them an excellent flavor- especially the carrots. Turkey gravy was fine once I added some salt and pepper. For dessert, they served apple crisp with vanilla ice cream- a winner with everyone!
Character interaction was good, all characters came around twice to our table so we got lots of good pictures.
May 5
Kona Cafe- breakfast
I had Tonga Toast, cousin had pancakes and bacon, DD had french toast and bacon, and DS had child's pancakes with bacon. He got a real kick out of it when his plate came and had the pancakes assembled in the shape of Mickey's head. The food was all good, but not so great that it warranted the high prices. But we were at DW, so I wasn't surprised.
This meal was the only time during our trip that we experienced bad service. After taking our orders, the server disappeared for quite some time. It was a while before we received our drinks (juice) and we were not offered water at any time. Someone from the kitchen brought out our food, and after a couple of minutes the server checked to make sure everything was okay. Then she disappeared again until she brought the check and cleared our dishes. After dropping off the check she did not come back to pick it up for 12 minutes- yes, I counted. The restaurant was not especially busy so I can't blame it on her having an insane amount of customers to wait on.
We went to EPCOT that day and they were closing at 3:00 in the afternoon. So when they closed we went back to our room and ordered another Domino's pizza for a late lunch.
We were attending the grand opening celebration for Soarin' that evening at EPCOT. Dinner and free bar was provided
. We sampled some great food from around the park and had some wine. Saw many celebrities and listened to a concert by Bare Naked Ladies, as well as went on Soarin'. It was a great evening.
May 6
We ate cereal in our room again for breakfast, then headed to see the rest of EPCOT that we had missed due to them closing early the day before.
We tried different things for lunch:
Tangierine Cafe/Morocco counter service- I had the rotisserie chicken with saffron rice. DS had kid's cheese pizza and fries.
My chicken half was surprisingly tender but had no taste. I was expecting lots of seasonings and flavors and was very disappointed. The rice was plain but not bad. The pizza and fries were nothing to write home about, but he ate them
.
Fish and Chips/England counter service- Cousin and DD split and order of fish and chips. I don't eat fish but snuck a couple of bites- it was good! Very appetizing appearance and I loved how crispy it was! The fries were a disappointment but the fish made up for it.
We left for home that evening so didn't eat anything else. Oh wait, I did order a caramel banana creme brulee from Kona Cafe to take on the plane. Unfortunately, it only lasted until I got downstairs and outside the Poly. It was like eating a little bit of heaven. If I hadn't been in the company of other people I would have taken my finger and cleaned out the inside of the plastic dish. Darn those other people being there!!!

These are my must have when I have an Indian takeout so will be interesting to see how WDW version adds up. I agree with you about the pot roast as well, absolutely melt in the mouth wonderful. I think they need to make that portion twice as big though
. Many thanks for posting,
I will have to try them...thanks!
