We're just back. Some quick hits would be:
If you want to be noticed at MNSSHP, dress as anything other than a pirate. I've never seen so many pirate costumes in my life. We didn't stay for MNSSHP, but there were pirates EVERYWHERE that afternoon and more arriving as we left. We saw hardly anything else costume-wise.
We werent on the dining plan (free or otherwise), as we had rented DVC points and werent on a package. We did have some ADRs, so I knew wed be able to eat where/when we really wanted, but we were also able to add a couple of lunch reservations same day.
The crowds were non-existent. So many people on this board worry about what free dining does to crowds. Although it may impact the ADR situation for the most popular restaurants, September is still VERY QUIET crowd wise.
If you're interested, you can read my full trip report here: September 13-18
