We're just back. Some quick hits would be:

If you want to be noticed at MNSSHP, dress as anything other than a pirate. I've never seen so many pirate costumes in my life. We didn't stay for MNSSHP, but there were pirates EVERYWHERE that afternoon and more arriving as we left. We saw hardly anything else costume-wise. :confused3

We weren’t on the dining plan (free or otherwise), as we had rented DVC points and weren’t on a package. We did have some ADRs, so I knew we’d be able to eat where/when we really wanted, but we were also able to add a couple of lunch reservations “same day.” :thumbsup2

The crowds were non-existent. So many people on this board worry about what free dining does to crowds. Although it may impact the ADR situation for the most popular restaurants, September is still VERY QUIET crowd wise. :Pinkbounc

Great trip reports, Dodie! I was nervous too when I thought NWA might strike, not because I had any trips planned, but because DH did! It sounds like you packed a lot into your trip, while maintaining a relaxed pace, and even trying a few new things! Thanks for posting! :thumbsup2

Just a bump for today's crowd. Questions, especially about the Villas at Wilderness Lodge, traveling to WDW in September, crowds, visiting without kids, etc.? I'd be willing to answer.

I don't care about being noticed, but, I will be dressed as Capt'n Hook!

Happy Day after Talk Like a Pirate Day!
