Just got back late last night. Everytime we go, the week seems to get shorter. DH says he wants to go for three weeks at a time now........hmmmmm need more vacation time.......

Anyway we were in SV 2br 5081/83 (studio/1br). We were the next to the last room on the left of the 5th floor over looking the entrance, the studio was across from the BW sign, and the 1br portion about even with the taxi parking/flower beds. There was one studio beyond us, so now I understand why some say that end of the resort is only 4 floors - as it is only 4 floors beyond that point. The one br had one large porch and you can see the high fireworks over the BWI building.

We all loved the standard view. I was a little apprehensive about being near the entrance, but it really wasn't an issue - except when someone's car alarm was going off. Car alarms went off each time with the special holiday Illuminations ending. The first couple of times, I thought it was coincidence - and then the 3rd and 4th time........................it was getting funny to hear it.

The unit was clean and in good shape. As the week progressed we did find a couple of problems and reported them. The AC broke and was repaired within a few hours of us reporting it. The stove light was out and the fan only had one speed. It was repaired while we were there. And the dryer wasn't working well. It would take 2 90 minute cycles to dry a load. We reported it.

The room is larger than I remembered, which was nice for me! I think sometimes we hear so much on this board about the rooms being small - that the picture builds in our mind. There was plenty of room everywhere - in closets, LR, bedrooms, fridge etc. We pulled the table out from the wall for the meals we ate in. It's really just perfect for a vacation vista. I will see in March how I feel about 6 people in the three rooms, and then I'll really know!

I was in the pool almost every night. It was so warm - just like bath water. The resort is so pretty in the Xmas decorations. The entertainers on the BW were fresh and new and fun. I saw several shows and the children just loved them!

DH and I agree that the BW is the place we love. We have stayed at OKW and BCV, but the BW is the best for us. I thought for sure that he would say he didn't care as long as he could golf, but he really did insist that he wants to stay at the BW from now on. That's fine with me, as I would love to continue to take advantage of the SV points!

Thanks for the report. That Illuminations ending is incredibly loud. When you are at the park, your insides shake! It is awesome to see though!

Thanks for the report. Glad you had a great time. The BWV is also our family's favorite as well. I'll have to pay attention next time to the car alarms.

We were up in Maine last weekend. A bit of a difference in the weather from what you had in WDW.

We could have stayed there for three weeks and never noticed this one! :D

Thanks for the report, and glad to hear your trip was a great one!

Sounds like a great trip --glad you enjoyed it! We stayed in 4081/4083 for 8 nts this summer. I agree with you about the space -- I was getting nervous as our trip approached, just certain I'd find myself in a shoebox, but once you arrive, you realize you've been indoctrinated by all the comparisons here on the DIS! ;) It was plenty spacious enough for us -- and we had 4 adults and 4 kids AND one baby! Talk about pushing the occupancy limit!

I also agree about the view, because I was also convinced (prior to entering that room) that I was going to be disappointed with the std view. The view was just fine (and we never noticed any car alarms, so it must be the holiday finale that is setting them off). And given the choice between a grander view and an extra night or two on the points we save -- we always go for the extra nights! You can't have enough time at WDW!

Again -- thx for the report and my sympathies as you return to the real world again!

I'm happy to read your report, kathleena! Swimming every night? .. in December, that sounds heavenly.

Our first BWV trip is coming up, so very soon now, I'm thrilled, and your report has only hyped me up even more!

We're just back from BW too and couldn't believe the intensity of the Holiday Illuminations ending!

We were in the Belllvue room one night for a nightcap and three CM's (off-duty) were standing at the bar arguing over the new firework ending. The two guys liked it but the girl CM kept arguing that it was "obnoxious and just too over the top!".

I guess everyone has their own opinion!

Bobbi - have a great trip - the walk from the doors of the building to the pool is so short - that even if it's chilly it doesn't matter! Just run from the door - go to the left for the towels and then find a chair, throw off the outer clothes and get in!

Gopherit - always fun to find someone you've "shared" a room with. Really makes these boards all seem like home. Our roommates are OKW owners and we have stayed there in a 2br twice. We made our own comparisons re: accomodations and I'm listing them preparing to post.

And re: the extra fireworks - when I told my DH about them, I used "just regular fireworks but double or triple the effect" to describe them. Not really themed, sequenced or anything - although the finale crescendos with the lovely music and the choir. Just a lot of explosions at the end. Definately over the top, and not something I would go time and again to see. The draw of the Wishes and Illuminations fireworks is the story and the theatrics of the fireworks. But the extra ones are definately heart-pounding. You could feel them in your chest all the way over to the boardwalk and around the lake in Epcot they would take your breath away!

that's reassuring. next september we will be 3 adults, and 5 kids :earseek: (16, 14, 10, 3 and 1)

Where you in the pool the night of the Dive In movie? I loved that new feature!!! We had missed it by a day at Universal. So we were very happy to see it offered at Boardwalk. I spent alot of time at the quiet pool simply because it was easier with the kids. If you were there I was the one chasing the 2 four year olds wearing the bright Orange speedo life vests. they were a little hard to miss. :earboy2: :earboy2:

No, I had never heard of it until I saw you post it somewhere else! I was always at the main pool was the movie at the QP?

Sounds like fun thought - we are staying there in March for one night with grandkids and in August I'm going with my granddaughter. WIll have to watch for it!

The Movie was at the main pool. The screen was set up just to the right of the life guard chair near the slide exit. The kids loved it. They brought over bags of popcorn, and cotton candy from Community hall. For sale I am sure, But we never actually asked. I hope they continue this it's a great feature for the kids.

We stayed at BWV in early November and noticed this, too. I wonder if that's normal? It was funny to watch people jump in for the first time. They'd be all tensed up, ready to be cold, and then do a double take when they realized how warm the water was.

Boy, there's no accounting for taste. I could watch that finale every night for the rest of my life and not get tired of it.

Me too! On my trip last week, I saw it 5 out of 6 nights! 3 at the park (first & last night, plus walking out after CP dinner) and twice from our room balcony. Only missed it MVMCP night. Awesome!
