Just back from a wonderful trip--two adults, no kids. Ate very well.

Flying Fish-walked in without a PS at 5:45 on Thursday night 3/11. Sat at the counter watching the chefs. It was quiet there until later in the evening. Service was fantastic! Best of any restaurant I've visited recently. Food was good but I felt overpriced. I ordered wahoo...and it was not fully done when it arrived. My waiter sent it back and it was put on the grill for a longer time. Raw in the middle wahoo surprised me at this level. The waiter stayed while I cut into it as he wondered why it was done so quickly. I'm not sure I'd rush back, but did enjoy my time there.

Fresh-at the Dolphin for lunch. Nice atmosphere. Very quiet at noon on Friday. Buffet was excellent...enjoyed every bite. Desserts are yummy. Service was not as good as I expected. Honestly, my waiter had difficulty speaking English and I had a very hard time understanding him. It was slow but he was slower getting my beer, water, etc. I guess he might be new because he didn't seem to have a clue as to what he was doing. I'd go back again.

Rest. Akerhaus-must admit this is my favorite Epcot eatery. I love fish and scandanavian style salads, etc. Friday night we walked right in at about 6:45 without a PS. Food, beer and service were all excellent. Beautiful atmosphere and a real "bargain".

Returned to Rest. Akerhaus for lunch Saturday. Again, wonderful service and food. No wait. Such a deal. I did not see many families eating there. They do have a children's menu and the children that were there looked pretty happy.

Pebbles-Crossroads Mall-Sat. evening. We tried to get into Bahama Breeze about 8:45 and were told it was a 65-95 minute wait. Headed over to Pebbles and waited about 25 min. Food and service were great. Atmosphere and wine were good too. Had eaten there for lunch on Thursday and was happy to return.

Boma-breakfast Sun. a.m.-I was looking forward to this as I had enjoyed my meal two years ago there. I did not think that the service or the food was quite up to what it was two years ago. We had a PS for 9:30 and were seated fairly quickly. It was busy. The pastry did not seem as fresh as it could have been, the hot dishes could have been a little warmer. Coffee was not a good as I remembered, a little watery. The fruit was fresh and delicious. I think next trip I'll try dinner there. Breakfast was a choice between Fresh and Boma. I think I'll try Fresh next time.

Back home trying to diet! Can't wait to return next March!

Your coffee at Boma was watery bc you were drinking Sanka! I ordered coffee there and asked the waiter to return it once I realized what it was (he confirmed it). The only place I've had "real" coffee in the World is at the Kona Cafe at the Poly.

Thanks for the reviews! Just one question... what is wahoo? :)

Wahoo is a white fish that apparently is native to Florida. It has a mild, sweet flavor and when charbroiled is delicious. I had never heard of it either, but my server explained it well. I took and chance on it and enjoyed it.

Thanks for the reviews. Glad you liked FRESH, we ate there twice for breakfast in Dec. and really enjoyed our meals.

Thanks for the reviews! I really want to try Fresh and have it on my "must try" list for a future trip.

Thanks for the reviews!

For the good coffee at Boma, you have to specify the press pot of coffee.

Your reviews I enjoyed reading them.::yes:: :wave2:

About that "raw in the middle Wahoo"--often that is a sign the fish is/was frozen when cooked--they don't thaw it out, so while it looks done on the outside, it can be cold (or even raw) on the inside. Not a good sign at a restaurant like FF.

I had the same experience with my salmon, but at Artist's Point(of all places!) They stress that their salmon is flown in fresh daily. So, it might have been the cooking temp? I personally like sushi, so I didn't send it back... but would have enjoyed it more if it was a little less raw in the center!

Isn't it interesting that we are tolerant of things like raw fish! I thought they would perhaps offer me a complementary side dish or something else. The waiter was go great that I overlooked the poor food preparation this time. Outside of Disney, I wonder if I would have been so pleasant about it all. For $34(? )I would expect perfection!

The fish was fresh according to the waiter. Hope they aren't passing frozen for fresh!

I had hoped for mahi mahi but that was not on the menu. I found the menu quite limited.

I am glad that I tried Flying Fish, but I don't think considering the prices and this experience I would go back. Might try Blue Zoo next time.

The FF is my personal favorite. My only complaint is that is so popular they have raised the prices over the years. The potato wrapped fish(either grouper or snapper) is my favorite entree. The wahoo should be very good. I have had it in the past.

The only other time I had Wahoo at Flying Fish... it was cooked rare-medium-rare... and the waiter described it to me as being cooked this way. It was perhaps the best fish I've ever eaten to this day. My guess is that it was supposed to be cooked medium-rare or about that... either way, they should have explained that to you (if it was supposed to be medium-rare or rare) and clearly didn't...

Thank you for your reviews. We are going to Boma for breakfast this trip, and Akershus for dinner. I am excited about both! Now I know about ordering the pressed pot of coffee at Boma. Also, I was a little leery of Akershus, but your review put me at ease. You sound like someone who knows what he is talking about!

edited to add: I thought I heard that Akershus is going to discontinue lunch service. Do you know if this is true?
