Hey everybody!!

Just got back from 10 magical days with DH. We stayed at POR, which was lovely as always and I wasnt ready to leave on our last nite so we added a nite at pop, which was great as well (have stayed at both before, this time I noticed a LOT more noise in pop, we were on the third floor as opposed to the 4th which we had last time, so having neighbors above did make a diff)

Weather was great except for one day we had rain, other than that sunny and HOT!

Parks got very crowded the last few days we were there, I am told it gets busy now and increases over the next few weeks.

Expedition Everst is the BEST RIDE EVER!!! I LOOOOOVED IT!! And no matter what anyone says sitting in the front of that ride makes a HUGE difference. The first time I rode we were in the 4th row and I was like, ehhh, it was pretty cool, but NEXT time we asked for the first row and now Im HOOKED! SSSOOOOOO GOOD!

We used TourGuide Mike and he is wonderful! Thanks Mike!

We ate at Bomas, Ohanas, Tonys, Marrakesh, 1900 park fare, Crystal Palace, Brown Derby and others everything was delish! Im gonna go do a full trip report, but if anyone has any questions that I can help with Id love to!

Minky :goodvibes

Happy to be back???
I cant wait to ride EE... I heard the back was more intense.. How would you rate it to the other rollercoasters in Disney??

Actually I am sad to be back, its just hitting me now, but it will pass as I will start planning the next trip!

EE is just fantastic, I like it much better than any other coaster in Disney, it is SOOOO smoooooth, no jerking or harsh bumps, smoother than RNR.
The view as you are climbing up is beautiful, not scary even though you are so high up, if you look left you can see epcot and MGM, and to the right the tree of life. The yeti himself is a work of art, he looks so good!! The queing area is incredibly well done. With most Disney coasters however, you can sit anywhere and its the same experience, not so here, the front made a huge difference, but try both and see what you like better.

Youll love it!

:cheer2: I'm glad u had a great time :thumbsup2
How was the Transportation from POR? we will be there next week and are taking our two nieces for there first visit. Can’t wait

Welcome back. Glad to hear you had a good trip. Can't wait to ride EE. One question, How was Tony's? Did you do dinner or lunch? Thanks.

Glad you had a great time!! We will be at POR shortly! Can't wait, love it there! :thumbsup2

Glad you had fun on your trip!!! How was the Restaurant Marrakesh. We have an ADR there for our first night. I keep reading conflicting reports about it.

JuneDisney - Marrakesh was really very good, I had the sultans platter which gave a little bit of everything and it was great! There is an appetizer that is meat in pastry sprinkled with powdered sugar, it is SO GOOD! The atmosphere is great too

jpolak - We had dinner at Tonys, the food honestly I felt was just okay, lunch is probably the better way to go there if you want to try it and see if you like it. THe restaurant itself is very cute, and we were sat right in front of the lady and the tramp fountain which was pretty neat.

jazznms - We had a car so Im sorry I cant say anything about the transportation, but I have always heard good things about it

We are at POR come November, any tips or hidden treasures ??
Also, we are doing Marrakesh for the 1st time, I also hear lots of mixed reviews, so happy to hear another good review!
And, we are trying Ohana's for the 1st time, how was your meal there??
AND, alsoI see you did Crystal Palace, was it the character meal ?? We were thinking of doing that one.
In Animal Kingdom, could you see how construction was coming along on the new Nemo Theatre??
Oh, and at Epcot, how is the Living Seas Pavilion??? Heard it was under some major changes.
Thanks So Much !
Nothing beats feedback from someone who was just there !!!

My 4 yr old DD picked out all the Smilie Dudes for me !!! WOW !

Minky,
Thanks. Thats what I seem to be hearing. We will probably keep the dinner ADR and give it a shot. Thanks again :thumbsup2

I have a question Minky about EE. Do you take your bag (purse, small messenger bag) on the ride and put it under your seat like on most of their rides, or do you need someone to hold it or find a locker? I always like to know ahead if I am going to be able to keep my bag with me. Thanks. Glad you had a good time. :cool1:

Hi Willis37862 - I had a small backpack which fit in the little cargo net area they have for you so I brought it on, lockers were available though I believe!

BellenBuzz - Some tips for POR - First notice all the hidden Mickeys in the architecture around the ceiling of the lobby, request partierre place or oak manor for a building both are a pretty quick walk to the main lobby and foodcourt, the ambience of that hotel is SO great, it is beautiful! But at night, the magic happens, it really becomes even more beautiful- stroll the resort, take the boatride to DTD, soak in the magic the resort has to offer, its got a lot!

O'hanas is one of our favorite must do's everytime! Its a really good meal and great experience!

Crystal Palace was great, yeah we did the character breakfast and it was great as always, its our 1st day tradition! LOVE POOH!

The whole Nemo theater is behind a tarp so you cant really see anything.

And in Epcot the Living seas still has construction going on, but there is a side entrance to Turtle Talk which is convenient, the lines were very ling for that too BTW

Any other questions let me know!

Welcome back, Minky. Sounds like you had a great trip! We are going to be staying at POR also, hopefully AB section as we have stayed there before and love it. We have never taken the boat to DTD as it has always had a long wait. I think I will try it this time, though. We will be there Sept 30 - Oct 12.
A question about EE from this ride chicken. I would really love to try it. I definately will not do the first row ( chicken, remember?) but I want to compare it to the other coasters as far as fright factor. I love BTTMR and SM and I have done SM but don't love it. I will not do RnR probably. I have heard that EE is not as scary - what is your take on this? This trip will be my last for a while as Australia is calling out to me so I am determined to do ToT. I do hate drops but I will just have to suck it up. I really want to see what it is like inside. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

At EE, does the line form towards Dinoland or towards Asia? Can't decide which way we should head upon arrival. Any tips?

Welcome back and glad your trip was wonderful, and sounds like you had a great time. I do have one question, Tony's, how was your meals there, and what did everyone have and their opinion on the food. We are trying to decide whether to try it there ? We have been there but it has been many years ago. :confused3

thanks in advance,

Hi Deany - As far as EE, if you can ride Space mountain and Big Thunder, yo ucan definetely do this ride, its actually more pleasant because it is SO SMOOTH, and if you are not sitting in the very front, the drop is not that intense really (or not as intense). And PLEASE do TOT it is one of the best rides in the world, the theming inside is spectacular, and the drops arent that scary cos your inside :teeth:

Ozziewags - we found that when entering the park take the shortcut heading towards Dinoland to be easier for us....right before you enter Dinoland, you make that left past the Old Tarzan rocks theater....the line does form in the OPPOSITE direction, but we timed it both ways and that was quicker.

Steamboat209 - Our meal at Tonys was nice, mostly for the ambience and the service. The food was honestly just okay. I would definetely recommend lunch, I was actually shocked at how much dinner cost there, honestly. I am not cheap at all, but it was just 2 of us and our bill was about 75.00 with no liquor. We did have appetizers and a dessert. I had the spaghetti with sausage which was okay. DH had some sort of chicken thing that he seemed to enjoy. I believe the lunch menu is very similiar and the prices are much better.

Hope this helps guys!

Thank you very much for your reply, we had not been to Tonys for some time now and I wanted to get a feel for how the meals are. Thanks again.
