Dittos's to all who have already raved about the MH. We had a ball! But what I'd like to comment specifically about is all the FANTASTIC people we met...WOW!!!! DVCer's, CM's, Member Services, everybody...you made our trip the best ever along with some wonderful new friendships! Many thanks.
I also wanted to comment on an event we hadn't even planned to attend...Wilderness Lodge celebrated it's 10th birthday on Friday and we were just hanging around the Lodge waiting for our flight home when the festivities began. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Lodge celebrated with Native Americans hosting programs about their culture that we found facinating. The celebration culiminated for CM's and guests with a Native American blessing of the Lodge. It was very impressive to see all the Cast Members lining the atrium and there were a few short speeches. A couple of them by the first GM of WL and the finale by the brand new GM. A few loud blasts acompanied by the ooohs and ahhhs of the crowd then released a blizzard of multi-colored paper leaves onto the crowd below. The cake for the event was an incredible work of art by the Chef of the Grand Floridian. It was a replica of Wilderness Lodge. The base of the cake being edible while the entire Lodge portion was made up of sugar. Cast Members and guests mingled while enjoying the cake (to-die-for cake, by the way) and a toast of lemonade. It was a great way to end our fantastic trip "home".
Is anybody else as tired as I am? Whew!
