I had a wonderful time at the OKW, but my kids were disappointed in the pools and would like to try the BWV, BCV or VWL next time. My DS (16) really wants to try the Poly, but I fell in love with the size of the unit at OKW and the washer/dryer was so wonderful to have handy.

So.......first off, when the codes come out, do they usually have deep discounts on suites at the deluxe and moderates? If you are trying to plan a year or more away, how do you know what the prices will be? Can you look back at the same time the previous year and safely assume it will be maybe slightly higher?

Here's what I'm looking for:

A quiet area (BCV and BWV had too much activity for me :), but great pools for my kids. I can't stay in one room for a whole week - my husband snores so loudly I would end up sleeping the bathroom :), so I stick my DS with him (he can sleep through an earthquake) and I sleep with my DD in another room. So that rules out standard rooms. Also, we do seem to spend a lot of time in the room and we definitely use the refrig./microwave - always eat breakfast there before we head for the parks. Transportation is also another element - OKW is a little further away and did seem to take a little longer to get some places.

Can any of you experts give me ideas of places that would satisfy all of us and then tell me how to plan a year or more ahead (price is also a consideration) - I used the Disney Club Discount this time - I am not a DVC member.

I probably will come up with a million more questions - sorry.

Thanks for any help -

Paula

I am laughing because I feel the same way. We are just back and I want to plan the next trip! We have stayed at OKW, POR, and Beach Club. I loved OKW but it was TOO quiet and too far away. I would really like to try BCV next time. It's actually in a very quiet area of the BC. I toured a room and it's very similar to OKW. It seems to be slightly smaller but ooh, so new it sparkled! I'm wondering if they discount the BCV's at all with them being so new.

The one thing I like about POR was the food court so really wish there was a deluxe with a food court like that.

Anyway I don't think I've answered your questions but just feel the same way about planning for next year.

I strongly suggest that you look into renting points (you can find out all about it through the DVC Rent/Trade Board and the DVC FAQ link. You can get a fantastic deal - esp. if you stay during the week rather than on Fri/Sat. nights which cost more "points." Renting is generally a much cheaper way to go than trying to pay for villas or suites at the regular rate with only a small discount. We rented a two bedroom villa at BWV this past May and it was fantastic. We paid about $400 per night and it slept 8 people and had three balconies. The price for regular room at the Boardwalk Inn at that time was around $300 per night, so we were very happy with our deal. The location and the pool are both great.

I also suggest you look into renting pts and also do not dismiss the BCV or BWV as noisy/hustle bustle resorts because they are not. I am a DVC member at BWV and I live at the Jersey shore and believe me the villas are very quiet and beautiful and are located in a fantastic location, that can not be beat. You can walk to 2 major parks and numerous excellent restaurants. Both have very nice pools and are both areas that appeal greatly to both young and old because of the convenience and the fun atmosphere and the luxury hotel amenities that are provided to their guests.
WLV are also very nice, they are in a more laid back setting similiar to OKW but in a much better location. WLV also have a very nice pool and are very conveniently located to MK and the monorail resorts.

I agree. I have friends who stay at the BWV, and they rave how good they are, and you can't beat the location!
