We just got back today from 10 wonderful days!! Me my DH, DD 25, DD 23 and her dbf and my DS 14 along with my brother and his wife and their 2 DD's. Very depressing to have to leave.. Anyway, so here are my comments from this trip. We checked into AKLV concierge on July 1. As always, this hotel is absolutely incredible! One of the best themed resorts on Disney property, IMO of course. Concierge is always great and it was wonderful to have a nice hot late every morning as soon as I woke up to watch the animals with:) The offerings did not change much from last year, however, they do not have the variety of deserts and apertifs as they did last year. Everyone at concierge was great as usual and having maid service every day was a bonus! On July 5th, we checked into Bay lake Towers. In all honesty, it was not my cup of tea. It almost seemed like any Hilton, Weston, etc.. that you stay at. The proximity to the MK and the monorail was great though! I did however love the activities they had available. My son went Parasailing which terrified me and we did the night time fireworks private cruise which was amazing!! Obviously that was how the fireworks were intended to be viewed!! They pool was nice there except for the blackbirds that sat and waited for lunch time! On the first day I felt like I was in a scene from "the birds." The staff (especially Jacquie and Robin) were fantastic and went above and beyond! The community hall was great and had activities all day long! The kids absolutely loved it!

Now for the WOW... where did everyone go???? We walked on every ride for the entire trip!!! They never even made capacity on July 4th! This was the first trip in 9 years they did not close MK due to capacity. We were shocked. The longest we waited for a walk on ride was 20 minutes for Soarin! Most everything else was 5 to 10 minute waits. This was at every park we went to and every ride!! This was for 9 of the 10 days we were there! Yesterday we were at MK and it was the busiest it had been while we were there. 15 minute waits and we were shocked!! (spoiled is more like it) All in all it was probably the best family vacation we had and everyone had a great time! Anyway as they say... back to reality!! :sad2:

Sounds like your trip was wonderful! I can't wait to stay at AKL some day. Thanks for sharing!

That sounds fantastic! I stayed at AKV for the first time in May and loved Jambo House. I've also been there when it's been quiet and you can't beat walking on attractions and then going on the same one over and over if you want to. I hope it's like that in Nov.! :goodvibes

I'm glad you had such a great family vacation. We were only at WDW July 1-5 and never made it on Soarin this time. When we looked the wait was around 70 minutes!

70 minutes, is that all? That doesn't sound to bad for that time of year. We've been to Epcot in December and had wait times of 100 minutes for Soarin'.:scared1:

Glad you had such a great family vacation. We are wait listed for concierge at AKV for our upcoming Dec. trip. Not holding our breathe but still hopeful.

Glad your trip was awesome. We were also there during some of your stated dates (June 29-July7) we were also very elated and shocked with the quietness of the parks and thrilled to pieces about wait times that were so limited. The restaurants too--I can recall times that noon you avoid in parks because chances of a table etc are nil. We did not experience lines at counter service and many many tables available. I was so stressed because of what I had heard about July 4th and being there during that week but no problems. We have been in MUCH MUCH busier times -- our longest wait was like 30min for Rockin Roller coaster. DD and I walked on to EE BUT we went right as soon as AK opened. Still we rode and walked basically back on.:lovestruc

We just returned from OKW last night. Boy, did I miss my beloved AKV/AKL! I can't wait for December to be back at my favorite resort!

We were there the 3rd through the 8th and on the 4th MK was not crowded til late afternoon. Then the wait times exceeded 80 minutes at Space Mountain. The next day in Epcot lines were 60 minutes at 9:30 for Soaring and about 50 minutes for Test Track and Mission space. We chose single rider and got on Test track in less than 5 minutes.

Then again, the lines to get into the stores at Harry Potter World were over 1 hour long - to go into a store!!!!!:scared1:

But the biggest shock of all was when DS 14 said he was "Disneyed out" - and can we please stop going 2-3 times a year? Just once a year is fine with him.
