We just finished an outstanding and fun week at DW. We have never been in January before and I can't tell you how wonderful it was. Two words...no lines. We walked on everything. Imagine riding Splash Mountain and nobody waiting to ride it when you get back to the finish and getting to ride again. Thats just what we were able to do.
Wishes....fantastic.
Loved, loved, loved Mickey's philharmagic. Bought the mug, pin and magnet for reminders. What a fantastic thing for Disney to do, combine all of our favorite songs. Two thumbs way up!
We stayed at the BCV's for the first time and absolutely loved it, it was a 2 br and we thought we were in a castle. Also loved staying on the Boardwalk, wonderful to use boats and be able to walk over to Epcot.
My two boys loved Mission Space, my middle son and I stayed off. My husband loved it, but didn't feel well for a couple of hours afterward. That was it for him this trip.
Disneyworld is still very, very magical. The people were SO very nice, everywhere we went. We swam in Stormalong Bay every single day, oh my gosh, what a pool. The boys loved the whirlpool part of it and made lots of friends. We just loved how you could get away from the kids playing for awhile and swim off on our own in the lazy river and go in the whirlpools. We also pool hopped (DVC members) to the Boardwalk one day, loved that because of the slide and that there was nobody there...had the whole thing to ourselves, had a fantastic day there and used the bikes too.
Ate ourselves silly, still love the food there. Just had a really awesome trip. I would highly recommend this time of year (although Martin Luther King weekend got pretty crowded), but the week before it was perfect :D . So there you have it!! :wave2:

Wow I can feel the LOVE ;)

I am so happy to hear you had such a wonderful and magical time. That is what Disney is truly all about.

I so loved your post. Thanks for giving us the details. I hope it is just as nice for us. We will be going in less than 2 weeks. Trying to get DS to stand in a long line would be hopeless for us and torture for others, so I'm hoping for short lines. And he loves to swim so your pool details really got me excited. Thanks for taking the time.

We leave for Florida on 1/26 & spending 2 days at WDW (Coranado Springs). My question: What did you wear? (shorts?pants?) How was the weather?

Beginning to stress out about having to pack everything I own...

Glad to hear you had such a great time. That's why we always go in January now. We leave in less than 24 hours and can hardley stand the wait. Just finished looking at the forecast and they're predicting 60s and 70s and maybe even hitting 80. That's going to be hard to take after last weeks -40 below zero weather we had. Just did the math and that is 120 degree swing. :firefight

I too LOVE January, we went last year at this time and can't wait to be there again this weekend! The "no lines" really makes every day in the park relaxing - I know my family had our best vacation there last year and am looking forward to the same next week :D Thanks for sharing your trip and getting me even more excited!!!!

I will be there for my second trip in 3 months!;) I was there in Nov. for SSW, at MGM and will enjoy it this time, as there will be NO crowds!;)

Cruella17, we started our mornings at about 7:30sh and wore shorts and sweatshirts. At about 11:00 am, the sweatshirts got tied to the backpacks and wore shorts and short sleeves the rest of the day. Swam every day. Went back to the room and changed for the night into pants and sweatshirts. Worked perfectly like this every day. It was so awesome that we were swimming knowing that at home in Boston the kids were out of school because it was 20 below with the wind chill :D .

Jillpie, we were there the at the same time and I agree, it was awesome to not have to wait for anything! This was our first trip in January, as well, and this was one of the most magical trips yet!! Glad to hear that you enjoyed yourselves as much as we did!

OHHHH I am sooooo excited! We leave tomorrow for a long disney weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for small crowds also.

This will be the first trip for my 2.5 year old and he is not too patient. What 2.5 year old is?

It looks like it will be in the 60's for highs and 40's for lows. I guess swimming will not be on our agenda. That's a little too cold for this southern girl.

Correction...that was before the wind chill. ;) Ok, maybe not 20 below, but it was pretty close. :teeth:

So glad you had a great trip. It sounds absolutely perfect! :D

pnelson, I answered your question like 6 hours ago but forgot to click and send the post!!:D My sons are fifteen, eleven and ten. They loved it all. Especially my oldest, as this was the first trip we allowed him to go off alone for awhile. He's a track runner and he ran the Boardwalk during the week...well, on the last day he asked me if it would be alright if he ran right to MGM and ride rocknroller coaster?? I said sure. It worked out great, he's very responsible. He had a blast. The other boys did too, especially in Stormalong Bay every day. It was so much fun!
