Just back from another wonderful Disney Vacation. A quick recap of our experiences with POFQ and BCVillas.

POFQ: Requested and was given connecting rooms in building 5. Definitely the best building we thought. Had rooms 5111 & 5112 on the first floor. Directly across from the pool and laundry room. Quick 1 minute walk to the food court. Walked in and was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were much nicer looking in person compared to the pictures I had previously seen. I thought the decor had a deluxe feel to it. Downside is the double beds. I knew they had double bed but was not prepared for just how small a double bed is(our 2 previous stays were at AKL with queen beds/bunk beds). The beds really seemed more like a full or a little bigger than a twin. My husband and I just weren't comfortable so after the first night I shared a bed with my 8 year old.
The first day we came back from the parks at 2:30pm to swim and our room still hadn't been cleaned. I called down to housekeeping and got no answer so I called the front desk and they said they would take care of it. Returned to our room about 3:45pm after swimming and room still hadn't been made up. Went to MGM and returned around 10:00pm room was cleaned. Didn't encounter any problems the rest of our stay. Generally room was cleaned when we returned from the parks around 2-3pm for a swim.

Pool area was crowded on the really nice weather days. But the water was nice and warm. The grounds around the resort are really pretty too.

The food court was great. We all found many choices that we thought were good. I don't think we had anything that we didn't like. I had the pot roast dinner one night and thought it was excellent for food court fare.

Overall I really liked POFQ but due to the size of the beds I probably wouldn't return again.

BCVillas: rented points from a member and got a studio for 4 nights. Received room 350. Room nice and clean upon arrival. Glad we had a queen bed and the boys thought the pullout was pretty comfortable. Really like having a regular size coffee pot and sink area. I had brought coffee from home. We really missed having double sinks in the bathroom area. Even POFQ has double sinks. Housekeeping was quick to respond when I asked for an extra blanket and pillow. They showed up within 10 minutes.
The slide at SB never opened during our stay. It was suppose to open on the 25th and didn't. We did get shuttled over to the Boardwalk to use their pool and slide one day and really enjoyed it. Enjoyed Beaches and Cream for ice cream a few times and burgers for lunch another. Really missed having a food court though. Ate at the Yacht Club Galley breakfast buffet and thought it was just o.k. Some of the food was barely warm. Wouldn't recommend it.
Buses to MK and AK don't seem to run as often as when we stayed at AKL. We did like being able to walk to Epcot though.
Over all I don't think we would stay here again.

After staying at POFQ and BCVillas AKL remains my favorite for the following reasons: Food court area, Queen beds/ bunkbeds, double sinks, overall atmosphere we just love.

ohhhhhhhh Jenn - I saw last night that you wouldnt return to BCV - pleasssseee dont tell me that! DS & I are spending 6nights there in August!

How was the bus service at POFQ? Did you take the boat to DTD? We're planning to stay there in October and was wondering about the transportation.

It just isn't for us. When I'm on vacation I don't like making beds etc. Everyday I had to make the bed and fold up the sofa bed. It didn't take too long but I just like having a maid come in everyday and tidy up for us. You only get new towels on the 4th day. I prefer to have clean towels everyday.
I did enjoy having our own regular size coffee pot for making coffee in our room. The laundry is free for those who stay in the villas sections which was a plus. Since we only had a studio I appreciated doing laundry for free. Although there is only one laundry room and it was on the 4th floor. It was kind of a hike from our room. I wasn't impressed with the bus service from BC. Just seemed like when we stayed at AKL we never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. At BC we waited at least 20 minutes quite a few times. And they do share a bus with Yacht Club and sometimes Swan/Dolphin & Boardwalk which does add some time. Maybe if we had stayed at the Yacht Club or Beach Club we might have enjoyed it more. We felt like the Villas were a little far from everything. I'm glad we did it and now we know buying into DVC isn't for us. It was a great experience though.

Bus service was great! We never waited more than 10 minutes for a bus. The only downside is they do go over to Riverside and pick up at other stops when they are not full. We took the boat to Downtown Disney once and it was a nice relaxing ride down the river. We did have to wait about 30 minutes for a boat since the first one came by full. If it wasn't for the double beds I definitely would stay here again. I thought the resort was lovely.

the one thing I love about DVC--have the opportuntity to sleep in!! With no housekeeping interruptions!!

BCV is a good place will be staying at VWL abd BCV on my next trip

If you rent the unit from Disney instead of a member you do get housekeeping.

I love both BCV and AKL and would stay at either of them. (I just keep waiting on the AK DVC!)

I agree with Jenn about BCV about missing the food court. Although we are in love with this entire resort (YC/BC,BCV), with two small kids who don't sit well in restaurants, we struggle finding a quick hot breakfast here, like waffles, etc. Other than room service, which really isn't economical for us for an entire week, we have problems finding good quick meals in this entire Epcot resort area. I do love the AKL for a deluxe resort having great food. You can grab almost anything at food courts, especially for kids - soup, salads, etc. We did go to Tubbi's at the Dolphin for some meals but it's not always convenient to get over for breakfast when your kids want to eat right away in the am.

I did see on a thread here that a new food service was being set up in the Beach Club lobby near the gift shop. Wonder what this is all about?
