Just came back from 5 days in the world (11/7-11/11), first time on the dining plan. It was myself, dh, dd3, ds1. I eat anything, ds has 5 teeth so his intake is limited. DD is a typical 3yr old. Dh tries to keep a form of kosher but eats out as a pescatarian would.
Sat - lunch @ Contempo Cafe. DD got the kids chicken nuggets which were gross. Dh and I used snack credits on yogurt parfaits.
Dinner at Crystal Palace. Food was great, hot and fresh. It was packed but we only had a 10 min wait, character interaction was good.
Sun (MK) - lunch at Cosmic Rays. Place was packed. Dh got a kosher meal and I shared the chicken and ribs platter with the kids. Both meals were enjoyable but did I mention the place was packed??
Dinner was at CRT. Dh and I both had the castle salad (OK), he had the salmon (a little dry), I had the lamb (OK), dd got chicken nuggets (same as the ones at Crystal Palace), ds was given buttered pasta. All the food was just OK. Character interaction is again just OK, barely had time to snap a picture before the mice were off. They tried to rush us but we're unbelievable slow so ended up sticking around for the show twice. The overall experience was fine but we don't plan on coming back anytime soon.
Mon (Epcot) - we had a late breakfast at Contempo Cafe. Dh and I both got the bounty platter which was absolutely tremendous (eggs, potatoes, turkey sausage - I had both, french toast, and a biscuit) and more than enough to share with the kids and be full.
Dinner was at the Princess Akershus dinner in Norway which was as great as Crystal Palace and something we're adding "to the rotation". Character interaction was really great and I can't say enough about this place. We had Cinderella, Snow White, Aurora, and Ariel come around - Belle was taking pictures. They were at the table longer than we had anything to say to them, they took their time talking to us and fawned over ds for being a prince. Really cute interaction, dd told Ariel she took swimming lessons so she could swim like her and Ariel invited her to Atlantica, dd was really excited.
I had the pork chop (server request and something I rarely eat because of dh's dietary restrictions), dh had the mahi mahi, dd had Mickey cheese ravioli, and ds had the kids chicken (no charge) - everything was really good.
Tue (AK) - lunch was at Pizzafari. I wanted to try Picnic in the Park but didn't realize we would need to come back in 90 minutes for the food!
We all had the cheese pizza, the kids pizza is literally half the size of an adult pizza. It was fine, I think I'd try Picnic in the Park next time before coming back here.
Dinner was at Boma. I think I tried everything on the buffet and it was all so good. I had 3 different soups (butternut squash soup - yum, seafood coconut soup a little spicy, and a crab soup I didn't like), and overall everything was very good. Except our waitress, she was OK at best.
Wed (poolside) - we transferred resorts midtrip so we were at AKL. Had lunch at Mara: cheese flatbread (so good) and burger (good, the usual). Zebra domes and carrot cake for dessert were yummy. Surprisingly, so were the grapes. We also had some remaining snack credits so I some large lollipops to go from the shop.
Feel free to ask any questions.
