Well what a fantastic trip! We had such a great time it is hard to know where to start but here goes:
Highs:
THE WEATHER!!! It was like high summer and just could not be better. We went up in the balloon early one morning in T-shirts and could sit outside in the dark in the evenings similarly dressed. OK, we had to buy sun hats but I can live with that! Everything looked so beautiful and we just relished in the sunshine.
The Cheyenne a pleasant surprise this as we have not always had the best experiences here but it represented the best combination of price, theming, bunk beds plus washing machine and ice making facilities so we had plumped for it again. It all looked pristine on the outside and our room was as requested in terms of location and being on the ground floor. It was very clean and this time there was nothing broken or missing in the room. It is a lovely site to spend a summers evening in and even the breakfasts were much calmer at this time of year no scrums for tables or all the fresh milk machines running out at once. No long queues for reception or check-in either.
All the cast members were friendly and some of the characters merited a special mention, namely Gaston, John Darling, Captain Hook, Aladdin and the lovely princess Ariel who kindly brought over other characters for us.
We met two of our now long-term CM friends, Graziella who we hadnt seen for a while but who spotted us from her new position on the Buzz Lightyear ride and Carinne on the Peter Pan ride who we had to say farewell to as it was her last day.
Panoramagique. We love this although it can feel if it is over before it has begun but this time we actually had a decent time afloat and were able to get a beautiful view as well as space to walk around the basket with only one other family on board.
Big Thunder Mountain in the dark TWICE ROUND! This was amazing, we have never ridden it in the dark before. We had the last ride on the Saturday night. The park was meant to close at 8 but it must have been about half past by the time we got on and so was really dark. Wow! It was so good and then when we got to the end the cast members asked if we wanted to go round encore. Did we?!! We were right at the back and that was definitely the best ride of the trip.
Loved the two Halloween shows, especially the hub one. The castle stage show was good too but a little disorganised as to the seating on the floor in front (it was the first showing of the season though) and although I will never gripe about the sun, I couldnt take any decent photos because it was watching right into the sun! (Thats when DH had to rush off and buy emergency sun-hats)
The park certainly wasnt as decorated as when we went two years ago for Halloween but then it was fun discovering new things and with the weather as it was we were far too happy to think about what might have been missing.
There was a great selection of Villains in Frontierland and there we saw Jack Skellington and Sally, Dr Facillier, Captain Hook, Maleficant, Snow Whites wicked witch, Frollo, the Sheriff of Nottingham and Bowler Hat Guy from Meet the Robinsons which I was particularly pleased about as I love that film.
As you are probably getting bored by now I will just add the one and only low which wasnt:
Low season crowd levels!
Honestly, what more could we have asked for? High season weather with low season crowds impeccable!
