Just Appetizers and Dessert?

DH and I love the WDW better restaurants like Citrico's, Chefs de France, Flying Fish etc., but we're always too full for dessert and would love to try more of the appetizer and dessert offerings. Does anyone ever have just appetizers and dessert at the better restaurants? Would it be a faux pas to do that? We'd be happy to add a good bottle of wine to our selections - we're not cheap, it's just too much food!

I have done that more than once. Sometimes the appys just look and sound better than dinner

I'm the same way - I love appetizers, salads and desserts - entrees are just too much food for me. I often feel just a little uncomfortable about it at lots of restaurants outside of WDW - but it's just what I would like to eat! (And I'm happy to order that bottle of wine, too!) Our pre-teen son is the same - he likes to try new foods, but doesn't eat alot and doesn't want to commit to an entire entree.

Anyway, when I ordered this way at the Brown Derby (cobb salad, tuna appetizer, wine and the grapefruit cake) and at Chef's, our servers seemed just fine with it. I felt very comfortable.

DH & I eat like that all the time. We'll either get drinks, wine, a salad, a couple apps & a couple desserts & share all the food. If we do get an entree, it'll be part of a 5-6 course meal where we split each course. No way would we have room for 5-6 courses each. I'd say our bills & tips are usually the same or more than patrons who come in & just order an entree.

We've never gotten the stinkeye from anyone when we do this. Our servers seem to be just fine with it. Usually if they know we are sharing, they'll split stuff & stage our courses for us.

We've gone to the Brown Derby and ordered cappuchinos and the whole dessert menu.

Seriously the desserts there are to die for!
