I was thinking of this the other day and just wanted to give everyone a head's up.... remember to check carefully around your hotel room upon checking in for "candy" under the beds/on the floor.... what I mean by candy is MEDICATION. We've run into 2 instances in the past 2 years where we could have had a serious problem. When we were staying at a hotel on Cape Cod, my daughter (then 2) came up to me and asked if she could eat this M & M she found on the floor... I told her no, and then took it from her (thinking it was an M & M) Upon her giving it to me, I noticed it was a pill of some sort
I was so relieved she knew enough not to put it in her mouth-kept having horrible thoughts of what could have happened......
Then, when we went to Disney in 12/04, we were walking through Tomorrowland and my other DD (4yrs old at the time) picked something up while we waited for DH to come off Space Mtn. She sat there playing with it and I went over and took it from her-a small ziplock baggie with about 6 different types of pills in it
Again, I was relieved that nothing happened!!!
I now make it a point to check every hotel room for anything small that may have been "dropped" and then missed by housekeeping and also stressing time and time again to my girls about the dangers of eating anything they "find" (and of course the taking food from strangers thing too)....
Just wanted to relay our experiences onto others so that you can prevent a potential tragedy......
