Hi,I just wanted to ask the people who have stayed at the Sheraton Safari if the waterslide is just for kids or can adults and older children use it too??
Thanks,Debbie

Wow,Thanks Spiceycat! I'm sure my neice and I will have a great time at the pool!
Debbie

Actually, I think it is more for older kids and adults...it is the totally enclosed narrow kind where you have to lay back. There was no way my little guy could have done it.

Klait That's good to know. Even though my neice is 12 yrs old I think I might go with the Caribe Royale since their slide is not enclosed.

I just wanted to add that I took my 4 y/o grandson there a couple of months ago, and he was really scared of the slide. I had no idea this would be so scary to him, as he loves the slides at the playground, and some of these are enclosed as well. I guess there was just something a little scary about this slide from the top and looking down into it.

I don't want to scare everyone away from here, but I just think the slide is better suited for kids a little older than preschool or kindergarten age. The slide empties out into the deep end and you would have to be right there waiting to catch a younger child.

I think the water at the POFQ was not as deep, and the slide there was not as intimidating. My grandson loved this slide so much I couldn't get him to leave! We only spent one night there, and our whole day was spent at the pool!

hi sweet maxine, Those enclosed slides scare me too!(I'm chlostophobic) I would much rather stay somewhere with a slide that's not enclosed.
Is the slide at POFQ enclosed?? Is it a big slide...I mean for adults and kids too??
Do you think we might enjoy that one more?
Thanks,Debbie

I think the slide at POFQ was used mainly by the kids. It seems like I remember a few parents sliding down with really young kids. Most of the parents were waiting around at the bottom of the slide for their kids. The slide at POFQ is not enclosed. I think it is just designed much better than the one at the Sheraton Safari.

I think if you can get a really good rate at the POFQ, in my opinion it is a much nicer place than the Sheraton Safari. The beignets in the food court there are really good, and it has such a nice atmosphere too.

we stayed at the sheraton in july. my son is 13 and tall and loved tne python slide. i didn't see any adults using the slide but there were plenty of preteens and teens using it and younger kids. hope this helps

When we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel a couple of years ago they had lots of adults going down the slide! Including the adults
(us big kids) I was traveling with! We even watched a grandmother go down the slide! It was so much fun. It made us all feel like (and 'act') like kids again. I would not miss it for anything...

debden,
If you went in July, you may have seen my family going down that same slide. Who wants to swim, when they can slide. :teeth:

deb - the POFQ is definitely for little kids -older kids will be bore here --- but it is sister resort of POR - that does have a slide for a bit older.....

however the best slide at any moderate is CSR - it has a really great slide.

Thanks for your help! I looked at POR and CSR and they both look great but the Caribe Royale has a better price for our dates so I think I'll go with them.
The slide and the grounds look great and I can get them thru quikbook.com for a reasonable price.
Thanks again,Debbie

Hey DEBDEN what is the crack about even saw a grandmother using. I am a Grandfather of 6 and will definately be doing the slides and alot of other crazy things with my grandkids this year as they all will be down at some time during our 7 weeks in Florida. This is what keeps me young.

HI Iluvflorida, My remark about a 'grandma' using the slide was only to point out that people (kids, mom, dads, and grandparents) of all ages can enjoy a waterslide!! It's not just for kids anymore...it's for us big kids too!
