I'm trying to play cool but I am excited. We'll be in Orlando from July 8 to 19 for our 1st (and probably only)family Disney trip.
4 of the 5 of us have been to Disney at least one but never all together
DD#1 (15 this weekend) - at least six trips to Disney with her bio-dad
DD# 2 (15 during the trip) - once before, 2 days during a trip with her swim team
DD# 3(9) - once before; one day at MK with me on our way back home from a family wedding
Me - twice, once with DD#1, once with DD#3
DH - this will be his first trip
The best news is that two of the girls have NO CLUE whatsoever that we're going. Our resident sleuth/ Disney expert DD#1 figured it out a few weeks ago and has been very good at keeping the secret. She's actually leaving a few days ahead of us with her bio-dad.
Now that I think about it, DD's ability to keep a secret is scary - but that's a whole different topic of conversation! Gotta really keep my eye on that one!
The other two girls know we're travelling but think we're going to Trinidad (a stone's throw away from our home, Barbados)! Long story, but suffice it to say that youngest DD erroneously assumed that we're going to Trinidad, and we did nothing to change her mind! I can't wait to see the expressions on their faces when we get to the airport!
We're staying off site. Would love to stay on Disney property but this trip has been a huge financial undertaking (over US $3,000 in air fare alone!). This will have to be the trip of a lifetime, because I can't foresee when we'd spend so much money on a vacation again, when two kids are just a few years away from college age!
DIS has been very helpful - thank you all! The volume of info has been overwhelming sometimes, but I've had some very good advice!
Any last minute pearls of wisdom will be greatly appreciated!
