Our current passes expire on December 11th of this year. I called on a whim yesterday to ask if I went ahead and renewed if I could get the 3 months extra again. The CM called a supervisor who said yes. So I was allowed to renew them and now our passes do not expire until March 2012:cool1:
I took the name down of the CM and supervisor in case I have any problem picking them up at will call since I didn't call Member Services, I called the actual ticket line.
Anyway - I hope this information helps some one out!

And someone else just posted yesterday that they tried to renew their passes IN PERSON a day or two ago and were not permitted because they weren't within the 30 days before window (even though the AP site says 60 days before/30 days after, which supposedly is an error). And she had also called on the phone prior to that and was told no.

I know Disney is inconsistent in the best of cases, but this whole AP renewal / 15 month thing is a fiasco, IMO.

I hope it all works for you and the people who got letters stating they would get the 15 months even if they weren't there in person by 8/31. I'm waiting until September 1 and beyond to see how it all plays out.

I went through this whole fiasco last month. I was trying to renew before the price increase. My AP expires in December. Everyone I called on the phone would not let me renew (even supervisors). They kept repeating that I had to be within 30 days of expiration, even though the website says 60 days.
I gave up trying to talk to people and just went through the renewal process online. The passholder website did give the discount for DVC renewal. I received the vouchers in the mail along with a letter that said they were good for 15 months. We'll see when I go down in November to do the exchange.

Would like to try this tonight but want to use our GAD credit towards the payment and can't do it on the phone or internet. We got the 15 month renewal last year which will expire Dec 11 and the CM also dated my DHs the same even though his was a new AP so I won't complain. There does seem to be a lot of inconsistencies in the whole process though.

I sure hope it does work out for us when we pick them up. Now I'm worried. But I made sure to get everyone's names that I spoke with so hopefully that will help (I'm sure it won't though). I'm going to be really upset if I shelled out the money now vs just renewing in January when we go back.
Rob S, We head down September 24th to do so. I'll post here and let you know how it worked out.

Sorry to those who had so much trouble doing it.

Great news. Did you also get the DVC discount? I have to make a decision today whether to renew today and hopefully get the 3 mos. extension or wait until we get down there in Oct. Ours expire 9/24 so we are within the 30 day window. I will know today after I have my ankle x-rayed again and if I don't need surgery then my cast will be off 2 wks. before we go. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Can you share the # you called to renew or tell me where I can find it? Thanks in advance for the info.

Just got off the phone with MS and renewed our APs. I attempted to renew them on line and it wouldn't let me do it said it was not available on line and referred me to MS. Well, I did not get the extension and the CM called DVC ticketing directly and then checked with a supervisor. She said you actually had to redeem them in person at Guest Services today in order for them to be activated for the extra 3 mos. I told her we were down at WDW at the beginning of the month and attempted to renew them at Guest Services at DTD and were told that since it was outside of the 30 day renewal date (ours expire 9/24) it could not be done unless they broke the rules, etc. We were made to feel like we were asking for his first born so we just said forget it, we'll renew later. At the time I didn't know the AP website said you could renew as much as 60 days prior to your expiration. So happy for you but I just wish they would show some consistency. So many people have gotten conflicting info. Glad you got all the names, etc., and good luck! I didn't have the direct ticket # and couldn't find it anywhere so I just crossed my fingers and called MS.

Thanks for sharing your experience and I am glad it worked out for you.

I am SO sorry! I didn't see your post earlier. I call the passholders number. 1407WDWPASS. I did get our DVC discount as well. I would call back and speak to a supervisor if I were you. That's just crazy.

I'm getting even more nervous to see if this even works out for us. I really hope you get it resolved.

I tried 2 seperate times. Each time I talked to 3 different CM's and 2 different supervisors. They all told me we HAD to renew in person to get the 15 months. Doing it over the phone or online, we wouldn't get it. So, we didn't renew.
Why is there so many different conflicting reports??
Good luck to you and hopefully it works.

Thanks everyone for your advice and concern. I decided to email them directly about my experience and the inconsistencies. I really zeroed in on our experience of going to DTD Guest Services on 8/5 and attempting to renew in person and our experience of being told we were outside of our 30-day renewal window (our exp. date is 9/24) then only to find on the AP website it states you can renew up to 60 days. I told them I had renewed our APs through MS and did not receive the 3 mos. extension. I told them I was very disappointed in the inconsistencies and felt I deserved an explanation.

I don't know if it will do any good. I don't expect to get the 3 mos. extension but this whole thing was handled so poorly and they should get their act together when they make offers such as this! I'll let you know if I receive an answer.

Received our AP renewal certificates (cards) in the mail today (9/7) and they were attached to a letter stating they are good for 15 months. I know there are those who are skeptical that they will be honored but how can Disney send these out and then not honor them for the extra 3 months?
