I'm currently a member of DVC and we find the hotels great. Howver due to the high park prices the last few years my family has gone over to Universal's Studio's for the most part. Well last year while there I went on a water ride and do to my stupidity I washed (destroyed) my ticket which still had a few days on it. I went to Customer Service and after providing some info and without a blink of an eye they issued me a new ticket. Now this year I had to leave the park to take my daughter back to the Hotel and return to the park. Then later that day we had paid for a locker but our time ran over. I called an attendant and told him I had the money to pay for it but it was in the locker. He opened the locker and said complements of Universal's. I would just like to say thank you to the folks at Universal for all their great treatment and helping me out in all situations in which I created. Certainly the ticket situation in Disney would have warranted me leaving my firt born before getting a new one. And as a DVC member thats through my own experiences. Thank You again, I hope someone at Universal Studios read this post.

I'm going to move this over to the main board so more people can hear of your experience. :thumbsup2

It will get lost on the TR board.

Nice to hear! I love both Disney and Universal; they are different, but that doesn't make one better.

I was in the same situation with the lockers one day and I couldn't get it through the attendant's head that I couldn't pay to get my locker open because my money was IN the locker. I think I had to say it 3 times:rotfl:

Always nice to hear when someone comes back and comments on the good things that have happened to them. Thanks for that!

Very nice!!

One time we went to Disneyland and it was the last day of the trip and my daughter lost her squished penny she had gotten from California Adventure. I ran over to see if they would let me in to make 1 more, they refused (even though the machine was within view of the gate). I asked if I could give someone the money and they make me one and they refused.

After waiting for a manger for over an hour someone finally let me in to make it. What was sad is there was only 90 minutes left of the park being opened so it was not like I was trying to rush and ride stuff.

Other side of the coin...

We had been to the Blake Shelton concert and were headed out of the park by way of the Boulangerie (sp?) near the front gate to get some waters and cookies. :goodvibes

Wanted to head out the far side door to get our stuff from the locker but the "gentleman" in the yellow security shirt did not want to let us pass. Cool, I understand - so I asked should I go around the other side to get to my locker?

He replied that all the lockers were cleared out by that time and we would have to go to lost and found - which was next to the lockers.

OK - thanks for the info. We head over to the locker/lost and found area and try our locker anyway (there was a line at l & f) and our stuff was right where we left it.

Security guard just gave us a dirty look and walked on over to the customer service office. I should have followed and made a complaint - he made us feel like criminals for just trying to retreive our locker contents at the end of the evening (you know - the locker we paid to use!)

Anyway - I know that they have a tough job with the drunks and trouble-makers and I appreciate that. It's just that I'm not that way, my wife is not that way, and my elder parents that were with me are certainly not that way.

Kind of put a (small) damper on the evening - but it was still a great time. Next time, I will note the name and make a report - and let Uni decide if it's worth addressing.

Ultimately if I am treated like that too many times I just won't return. Judging by the crowds there, I am sure I won't be missed.

I thought this thread was about compliments, not complaints, lol.

I just wanted to add to your compliment regarding Universal. My grandson and I visited the park in March. He was riding Hulk when he lost his Super Bowl cap which he LOVED. I thought the cap was lost but it looked like it might be in the netting under the ride. We went to Guest Services who told us to contact them in a week or two. I called them after returning home and they sent the hat to us and actually paid for the delivery. Universal even sent us a letter thanking us for our visit. My grandson was so happy to have his hat back and hopefully will remember to take it off next time he rides a roller coaster.

You're going to run into bad apples in any group. I assume that none of the other employees gave you a hard time? I agree that he was definitely out of line.

To the OP, thanks for posting this. These kind of experiences are nice to hear about.

I actually had a similar locker experience when we went over by a few minutes and my money was in the locker. The TM was very helpful and didn't make me pay.

I also had another experience at the Mummy when I completely forgot what my locker number was . I found a TM and he asked if I knew what machine I used. He went to that machine, punched in a bunch of stuff on the screen, had me scan my finger and my locker magically opened . I guess they are used to this, because he didn't make me feel like a complete idiot :upsidedow.

Out of my several trips to Universal, I have never had a bad experience with a TM that I can remember. But I do have several memories of great ones that made our trip special.

That is sooooo awesome! When we were there, we were about to buy a sports bottle to get the unlimited refills. We were carrying around butterbeer mugs and she told us we could use these for refills, just like the sports bottle! We didn't know that and we thought it was so nice of her to save us 6 or 7 bucks! It would have been easy for her just to make the dough and have us walk away!

Thank you! I didn't know that about the butterbeer mugs. I had one last year and never knew. I gave it to my son as a souvenir but planned on purchasing one this time for me. Is that refill policy still in effect??

Several years ago, we were on MIB and my daughter lost her new sunglasses which we had purchased at home. We asked them where they took the items from the rides at the end of the day and was told lost and found, but in the mean time to go to the souvenir stand and tell them what happened and they would issue us a new pair. Now how awesome was that? We kept saying we would have been SOL at Disney...Disney would never have given us free glasses...

To top it off, the next day, we went to lost and found (my husband thought I was nuts). The lost and found attendant pulled out 4 post office sized boxes and just started dumping out hundreds of found glasses. I kept saying nope. Then voila' there were her sunglasses!
The attendant couldn't believe it--it must've been the Luck of the Irish due to being St. Paddy's Day. He said no one can ever find their own pair.
