I was planning one diiner with a coupon from the entertainment book. Has anyone been to either of these? Are they in or out of the park? How long is the driving ride?

anyone recommend either restaurant with a 5 and 8year old???

We ate at the Jungle Jim's closest to Disney with the Entertainment coupon. It was at the Gooding's shopping center across from the Downtown Disney hotels. It was just okay--just the regular restaurant food and nothing special. There were a few large fake animals (plaster or plastic or something). I wouldn't do it again--with or without a coupon.

We also ate at Jungle Jim's and loved it. The food was good and the service was great. They give you little plastic animals with your drinks and my kids went nuts over them. So our waiter comes back with two handfuls for the kids to share. The ambience is a step down from, say, Rainforest Cafe, but I feel the food and service make up for that. We had a blast there.

I found this link so you can check out their menu.

DH tried the Peanut Butter Bet. They say if you don't like it you don't have to pay for it (DH is a sucker for these kind of gimmicks!!) but DH loved it. It sounds disgusting but I tasted it too and it is pretty good. I had the Bernaise Burger which is not listed on their menu anymore, but it was also very good. (Can you tell we are adventurous eaters?) There are plenty of traditional burgers and the normal kiddie-fare. I can't remember what the kids had- probably their usual hamburgers or chicken strips- but they did like whatever it was.

I've done both. Jungle Jim's is a neat restaurant, however it is JUST a restaurant. The Pirate's Adventure is a dinner show. It is awesome, especially if your little ones like pirates. When we went, my son was 5 and was really into pirates. He was completely entertained throughout the show. If you've never been to a dinner show, or even if you have, I highly recommend the pirate one. It was awesome!

Is there a coupon in the entertainment book for the pirates adventure dinner show? If so, is it buy one get one or something else? Thanks ! -Dizma

Where can I find more info on the Pirate Show? My kids are really into playing Peter Pan and Captain Hook.

My friend did the entire lighting scheme for Pirates Dinner adventure, so I've been a couple of times. It's a lot of fun and the food's pretty good for a dinner show sort of place. (Better than Medieval Times, I thought.) The show is pretty entertaining, and the pre-show with appetizers and stuff is fun too. (Though probably not as fun as jumping on the set's trampolines, but you have to be there after hours with the right people to do that...)

Jungle Jim's is pretty much just a restaurant, but it can get pretty crowded late at night. Their Karaoke is really popular, especially with college program students.
