Jungle Book/Rivers of Light Dining Package Lookout thread for Dates After Sept 5th

I am in wait and see mode on the credits since several people in various groups I am in have called and been told it is a programming error, much like the great "no more appetizer" DXDDP debacle of late 2015 and the disastrous "character meals say they aren't on ANY dining plan on the Disney website" SNAFU of 2014. Phone CMs aren't always reliable, I know, but I wouldn't get too excited yet.

Have a feeling something is in the works to permanently make these changes as where they appeared was at the most popular character meals. Hope I'm wrong but my guess is that we will hear of these changes being made at some point this year.

Same, except we will be there mid-September. It's so hard for the planner in me to wait. I've never had as much trouble planning a trip as this year.

So, I assume I would need to cancel my "regular" TH reservation in order to get this package? What happens if I cancel and then the package isn't available? Can I do this transaction over the phone?

Me too. I'm waiting on Ferrytale, Star Wars DP and JB dining packages to open for September.

Yes. But if you go in and search and find a new opening for the package, go through the motions and it should pop up asking if you want to cancel/replace your existing reservation.

We don't really know but my personal guess is that it won't be anytime soon. My reasoning is that I think they are still working to get Rvers if Light up and determine when the switch from JB to ROL will happen.

Since JB is confirmed until early Sept I don't think we'll hear more until mid-Aug. I could be wrong but lately dates have been announced much closer to changes taking place than in the past.

This is purely a guess though and others may feel differently.

you are probably right. I think if we hear much earlier than July it will be bad news and JB will be extended. I think the 9/5 date is due to summer vs. fall crowds (right after labor day) but that doesn't mean RoL will be done by then necessarily.

1) The people working on RoL issues "think" it will be running late Autumn, but have hopes for earlier.
2) The folks working on Jungle Book hope it will get better once they can increase the water pressure.
. . . The water pumps create the water-mist-background for the projections.
. . . With insufficient pressure, the "background-wall" in not able to show proper details.
. . . At this date, no ETA for pump correction(s).

NOTE: Lots of folks are pleased with the Tree of Life evening show (as I am ), but are sadly disappointed at the evening Safari and Jungle Book. The live shows are basically the same people and peformances from during the day, so nothing new here.

Hi! Not sure if this has already been posted, but I just got off the phone with a very helpful DVC cast member. He is a huge fan of The Jungle Book show btw but he mentioned two things
1. He is being asked about this 3-4 times a day
2. After July 9th, when the fast pass reservations will open up for September 5th, Disney will have the issue resolved and packages available.

That was his "not guaranteed" but very strongly suggested prediction. FWIW!

Whether this is true or not, it at least makes sense. But since this is Disney, then that probably means it isnt true.

Hello! I havent been for a long time so I dont know anything about the Rivers of light show? What is it? If you book the Tusker house package do you get preferred seating? Is it more than one table credit in that event or extra money?Is it just a once per day event? Is it held every day or only on select days? We will be there december 17th-22 and are planning to make reservations next week

Following! And thanks for this thread. It kinda helps explain why there are NO dinner ressies available anywhere in AK for my week, end Nov/beginning Dec. I did jump on a 4:00 at Y&Y, but that almost counts as lunch... Very much hoping they will open up some dinner times when ROL is sorted out.
