June weekdays or weekends?? Passes blocked out, fathers day?

Our family of 5 is considering a trip in mid June. Either the second weekend or the third or the week in between. Here's the confusion though. The hotel we picked has free social hour dinner/food and drinks Mon- Thurs (as well as free breakfast every morning) which would really help with food costs but I think a weekend choice would be better since 3 of the 5 passes are blocked on Saturdays. Also, I think Fathers day is June 18th. How does that affect crowds?

What would you guys do? I had really hoped to be there during the free social hour days but it seems that the best days to visit in the last couple of summers have been Saturdays.

As a passholder, I generally avoid Fridays and weekends as they are almost always busier. However, I've never gone in the summer so I can't speak to the crowds around Father's Day. It's possible, with schools out, the crowds are no different on the weekend than they are during the week. But parents still have work, so weekends are probably still a more popular time for locals whose passes still work.

Just my thoughts.

Personally, I think it's a wash once you're into the summer months. While some of the APs are blocked, there are lots of folks traveling for summer break. When I've gone in the summer, the weekday days and weekend days both felt busy, especially towards mid-afternoon and evening. Additionally, Father's Day Sunday is currently announced end date for the MSEP (no idea if they'll hold to that date or extend it), so that might bring in some additional folks (that want to see it "one last time" - assuming the end date holds).

Our first day is that Sunday the 18th. It is the last day of the Electrical Parade. We expect it to be busy. I think the weekdays are actually less busy, even in the summers. And Tuesday to Thursday are the least busy as people might take long weekends adding a Friday or Monday. I would go with the weekdays and save on your food costs.

Thanks. I think we've decided to go with Monday-Wednesday for park days.
