I am beginning to plan our trip for next year and I am trying to decide which month would be better. A rough estimate of the dates would be 6/9-23 or 7/7-21 (dh works offshore and these are the current dates that he will be home. So really which would you choose and why. We will be staying at a Mod or Deluxe haven't decided which yet. that is next on my list.

Definitely the June dates. You may miss some of the crowds from schools that let out later in June. Besides it may be the tiniest bits of cooler than July. We're planning on getting there June 20th, but I wish it could have been a week or two earlier. Darn DD's dance recital! ;-)

I'm anxious to see what's next on your list. We're planning a trip in June of 2010 as well. It will be our 15th anniversary and we honeymooned at WDW so we'll return again, this time with our son. I don't know about you but it's already completely dominating my thinking.

I would recommend the June dates. Our school district usually lets out the end of May, but for some reason this year, we don't get out until June 9th (also adding a couple of snow days).

If you are thinking of going Deluxe, I would recommend the Contemporary. Especially since you're going in the summer (when it's hot and crowded). It is so easy to just jump on the monorail with the kids and get to MK for the morning. Then, when it's around lunchtime and it starts getting too hot, and the crowds start coming in, you can easily head back to the resort for naps/swimming. Then in the evening, when it starts cooling off a bit (sometime after 5-6pm), you can head to a different park. We just can't seem to successfully manage doing this unless we are staying at a monorail resort. Those darn resort busses just suck up way too much time.

Oh, and we fit 6 people (one was an infant) comfortably in a room at the Contemporary.

We actually have it narrowed down to 4 resorts right now. We are going to celebrate my dd's 10th bday which is actually is september but we are going to go during the summer in case she decides to bring a friend. We plan on going to Universal some as well. As for the resorts the two deluxes are between the contemporary tower w/ mk view and AKL. We stayed at AKL in dec and absolutely loved it but in the same breath who can pass up a MK view. The two mod resorts are between CSR (dd really wants to stay here) and CBR (dd really like the look of the new pirate themed rooms, who am I kidding I did too.) So these are the resorts we are looking and of all of these resorts the only one we have stayed at is AKL. I was also leaning towards Poly we stayed there in July of 2006 and really enjoyed it tremendously but dh has always wanted to stay at the contemporary in the tower and we want an MK view so its a win win situation. Of course we are thinking of doing the deluxe dining plan so I have leaned a little more to the moderate resort to save some money but I know I will keep changing my mind so at least I have narrowed it down to 4 resorts. I can't wait till I make my dining ressies that is what I am looking forward to the most.

I would avoid July due to the Brazilian tour groups. We were there last July - never again! On our DHS day, I counted at least 6 different groups ranging from 50-100 people. It makes for extra crowded conditions. This was also using a touring plan avoiding the EMH parks - they must be using the UG also!

My vote is for June! Have a great trip! :wizard:
